  1. It's annoying when you're dragged there. I hate it when you're forced to have 8 pints, so inconsiderate of your friends
  2. Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Don't make resolutions you can't keep
  3. Fozzie and Bikermoo Will likely head down with Ricky. I probably won't stay the night, or if I do it will be in a nearby Travelodge. I'm part of a minority that cannot stand camping. If I was going around the world I'd be cool with it, but doing it for fun just doesn't click with me.
  4. Animated wise I like 1. How to train your dragon - Just the first one 2. UP 3. Finding Nemo 4. The Incredibles 5. Wall-E 6. Big hero 6
  5. At Christmas I'd say 1. A muppets Christmas carol 2. The Grinch (sorry, it does indeed have Jim Carrey in it) In general. 1. Star wars original trilogy 2. Indiana jones 3. Red October 4. Forrest Gump 5. Meet Joe Black 6. Saving private Ryan 7. Alien 8. Iron Man 9. Labyrinth 10. You've got mail Loads of others I just can't think of right now!

Just as a quick tangent, have we had a 'films you keep going back to' thread? I may have to start one! Sorry - back to the original thread... No, feel free to make one

Can I just pm you the big spoiler and theory? Her understanding Chewie has a part to play.

That's what they make you think for the first half of the movie. But they then spend the second half making it open for debate. We can tell she was sent away, but some major points aren't explained, and with Rian Johnson writing the next one (directed Looper) I reckon he'll make the revelation a good one. I typically base films on their directors you may notice.

Took the boys to see it after school on Friday. Although I enjoyed it, I thought Kylo Ren was about as intimidating as a petulant teenager, and couldn't help thinking that a few more smacked bottoms as a child would have saved the galaxy a whole heap of trouble. I heard an argument at work over his petulance/intimidation It's almost deliberately shown by Poe he's not intimidating him, but he's quite powerful. There could be an age bias thing, as when a young man goes into a lightsabre flinging rage and then calms right back down to say "anything else?" he is seen as a young man having a strop. Add 10-20 years onto him and you don't have to do anywhere near as much to be branded "unstable". My own thoughts are the story did well with him. It shows him as being all powerful at the start, then progressively we see the fear and confusion that rules him, and ends with him shown to be powerful but untrained comparatively speaking with others we've seen in the series. So he has a lot of room to grow, and I suspect in the next movie a year or two will have passed and if done right we will see some deep development. I've figured out who Rey is I think. Won't post here, will only pm that as if it was right I'd take a big revelation out of episode 8 haha.
  11. I've seen parents use children to essentially beg. Should be more a knock on the door, and a request for a charity donation for a song. If particularly angry I'll grab the child by the shoulders, look wild and yell! "Santa isn't real! The easter bunny was an LSD induced delusion! The tooth fairy hasn't adjusted her payments to match inflation for 100 years, and jet fuel can't melt steel beams! Escape the lies!"

I guess someone had to not like it It was predictable, but it seems as though they wanted to pull in more newcomers with this one. Also it didn't have many ways it could have gone, it had to introduce a new generation, give them a reason to fight, and balance this all with character development. But I'm hoping it is being used as a setup for a great episode Viii JJ has a tendency to rush, even if he is very calculating and precise. I'm hoping Loopers director Rian Johnson who is writing the story will give it the direction it now needs. One of my personal little favourites is how Kylo Ren is clearly "unfinished". He showed a lack of lightsaber training with its use and construction. It was a good twist as it gives him room to improve, change, and remain an unknown quantity.

You seem to be stuck in 1997! You won't notice the quality unless your TV has the performance to show it. But it's most noticeable with a good sound system as the layers of audio information on Blu-ray are that much better. I can hear and see the differences, and it's one of those things, the more into it you get, the bigger the differences seem to be to you. I have a small DVD cabinet, I only keep 150 or so, I just cycle the list. Very few survive forever, only the likes of back to the future, star wars and Indiana jones keep a permanent spot. Eventually I'm just not bothered by it anymore and exchange it for something else.
  16. But you'd lack the mechanic aptitude you have picked up courtesy of the BMW. So there's a silver lining! As it has also fed your desire to further it with the CG. The only actual gripe I have with the bandit is its name, and its handling. Plus as the years went on it went from a kind of cool naked bike, to a big tourer, and the name didn't fit anymore. It always bugged me as it was like calling Austin Powers fat bast*rd "slender".

I have the Blu-ray on pre-order, you can borrow it providing you agree not to damage the disk if you don't enjoy it

    Star Wars

Amen to that! I'll watch it when it comes out on Netflix or Prime. Ideally while drunk so it doesn't irritate me too much. Disney have it in their clutches now, and they have their own streaming app for Disney movies. So it will likely never see Amazon or Netflix

I get the point of view. But unfortunately that's life. At a basic level, everyday people will milk likes from social media etc for many reasons. And there's no problem with that but it's no surprise that a high up corporate level has this same mentality. With Star wars I'm just glad they're investing in them heavily. As if you bugger up the franchise, you lose out on the years of merchandise. So it's in their interests to do well. The spin offs will luckily not be like Marvel where you have to see them all to get the full picture, but just "if you're interested, here's the story" As for Avengers: age of ultron, it wasn't as good as the first but still enjoyable. That said I heard Marvel had much too much input over Joss Whedon, and this is why it suffered. They thought they had a winning formula, not realising it was too repetitive.

Don't worry they will milk the EU for everything going with all the origin and spin off films they have planned You *really* dislike star wars don't you?
  21. Mine developed a vibration and a cough like this, and it turned out the valve clearances were way out. Seemed to be as the FI adjusted the fuelling through the rev range it caused a hesitance/cough and it carried on fine. It was beautifully smooth after I sorted it. Start easy, change plugs and check the coils. When they start to go they sometimes cause a hiccough around parts of the rev range.

    cornering.

Just relax on the bike, maybe experiment a bit like lean off a bit as I found I picked up speed a little as when you lean off the bike can corner the same but more upright. As long as you've got good tyres, the pressures are optimal, and you've been riding a few miles to warm them, just experiment with the line you take, and position on the bike. Find a sweet spot you find comfortable and then work up from that. It's as simple as that really, although more complicated in practise. Once you've tried different things you can feedback what worked, and what didn't so further suggestions can be made
  23. I'm sorry what? There's a certain scene in Borat I think of when I hear a statement like that.
