  1. I'll vote yes Looks stunning. To be honest I'll be following you anyway, unless I get lost again. Facepalm.
  2. If you're serious about going, book a ferry now on the Steam Packet website. Pay the deposit and the balance is due in February. What I've done in the past is book ANY crossing then after the end of February adjust the timings online to suit when I want to go. The problem is that thousands book their crossings in June and when the balance is due in February loads drop out and these bookings go back out on sale. Of course you could simply wait until March and take your chances. Security wise, the TT is probably the safest place to leave you bike. I've never bothered with security. Accommodation is expensive but I've used homestay the last two times I've been. Camping is an option but as in the case of 2012, you could get flooded out. If you do choose to camp what a lot of people do is mail their camping gear over beforehand and post it back afterwards, saves on carrying loads of stuff on your bike. The TT forum I posted earlier in the thread has people advertising accommodation. The official TT website also has a list of accommodation and campsites: http://www.iomtt.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Then there's the question of when to go. I've done practice week and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The roads are quieter and there tends to be less nutcases on the island compared with race week. Saying that, I've also done race week, the atmosphere is electric on the island and of course seeing the races live is awesome. Or do both weeks. With regards to riding the course, the mountain section is one way during the fortnight and has no speed limit. There are some short sections elsewhere that are the same but most of the course is speed restricted. Stick to the limits in these sections, if you're caught the police WILL throw the book at you. Don't restrict yourself to the TT circuit though there are some beautiful places elsewhere on the island to visit and some of the roads in the south of the island are excellent (such as the S100 course). It's an expensive trip but is worth it? Damn straight it is! Here's a video I made of my last visit there in 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhRq78Wnhjg
  3. This is a great resource: http://www.ttwebsite.com/forums/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  4. Yep, been there. What do you need to know?
  5. Don't bother with any alarms. When was the last time you went running when you heard a car/bike/burglar alarm? Exactly. Ground anchor and good chains are the way to go. Thieves aren't bothered by alarms, it's a quick snip with a nail clipper to disable them. A chain and ground anchor means using an angle grinder and that means making a lot of noise...and attracting unwanted attention. Even better use 2 chains. I despair at the amount of reports of bikes that get stolen because they weren't chained to something.

  7. Congratulations
  8. No problems here with my Scala Rider Q3, used on a tour of France/Spain this year. Connected fine and app worked with no issues. However I have the iphone 6s rather android but when I first bought it I still had my Sony Xperia Z3 (android) and my experience was the same on that phone.
  9. Oh dear. You posted on BCF. Good luck http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=316150&highlight=
  10. If the coastal route is the plan, you would miss the Pyrenees and the Picos which would be a shame. Given the choice I would spend 2 weeks there and ride to Barcelona taking in the legendary N260 along the way.

    Creepy Clowns?

It seems to be the latest craze. Personally, I can see all of this turning into a right circus.
  12. Go for it mate. I have to admit Basecamp isn't the most user friendly software out there but once I learnt the basics I managed to create a route in relatively little time. Good luck
  13. Had a go at Basecamp this afternoon. Took some time to get the basics. In fact it was very easy. I've made a loop of my favourite ride, uploaded it to my Zumo 340LM. Going to try it in the week http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y183/cruxiform/Screen%20Shot%202016-10-01%20at%2017.15.02.png
  14. ...on a BMW K1200S. This guy has clocked up some serious miles, already gone beyond 316,000 km. His other videos see him in Iceland, Libya, Syria and Turkey, among others. Inspiring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVAtPVkPs4k The engine rebuild at 316,000 km: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uUDQ1TV_zg
  15. I haven't been to a gp since 2001 at Donington and it was 500cc two strokes. Rossi triumphed over Biaggi and we saw the pass at Foggy Esses. This thread has made me want to go again but it'll have to be next year
  16. They're all little *****. f**k 'em.
  17. Well I for one am thrilled that Cal brought it home for GB. Massive achievement especially in a week of great GB success at the Olympics. Great ride from Vale too.
  18. Might be worth a view for the chap who was asking about reducing wind noise while using a camera. I mounted the Drift to the fairing and used a cheap external mic placed under the seat. SO much win. https://youtu.be/UQueFKNRS0k

    Germany (cochem)

Fantastic stuff. I absolutely love Cochem! The whole area is a rider's delight. Been there 4 times and it'll be 5 by the end of this year! Great pics
  20. Cheers The road was so good we rode it both ways!
  21. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtUywtrO_kg It was very nice
