I've had 15k out of a chain on my old Fireblade but I was quite fastidious about lubing it.

I think Guy does it for the enjoyment of racing. I think he's missed it doing all the telly stuff. He's at risk as much as anybody else. The riders feeling the pressure to win are Hutchy and NcGuinness. McG to match Joey's record then to retire and Hutchy to try and beat McG's record and so on. Pressure wise, Guy can just turn up and race, he's doesn't have to win but if he's quick enough who knows?. He has been the bridesmaid so many times, he set a 132mph lap in 2015 during the Senior...but then so did 4 other riders. The poor bugger would have won it on any other occasion.

Speaking as somebody who works with people who have disabilities, I just wanted to point out that the term 'handicapped' has been frowned upon for many years. Saying that, I admire the sentiment of your post. He's showing that his disability does not mean an inability to take part in the sport he loves.

I hope he gets his maiden win but the competition is tougher than ever at the moment. He's been so close at times and it's a shame as he has been devastating on the shorter closed road circuits in the past. Last saw him race at the 2014 TT and he was seriously quick.

They're ridiculous prices these days. I am lucky but at an age that allowed me to see bands like GnR, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Alice In Chains etc etc. Saying that if a ticket comes along at the right price for GnR next year, I'll be tempted.

As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters. Nailing a favourite song or solo is a fantastic feeling. I've been playing for more than 30 years but am still learning every day. Nailing a solo feels a very long way off for me at the moment, but still really enjoying playing. One thing I've always thought with guitars is Les Pauls always look great in Sunburst but it's a colour I don't think suits a Strat at all- they look great in white,black,red etc though. Strangely enough I have 2 Strats, one is Sunburst (!) and an all black one. I rode through France for a total of 4 days (circa 1300 miles) this year, saw plenty of police but was not stopped and asked about helmet stickers or anything else for that matter.

Best week on the bike was in the Eifel in early September with 4 other fellas from this forum and another friend of ours.
