Thread resurrection. I saw this BMW K1300S advertised on EBay earlier, mileage is a mere 218,402 miles. Not bad for a 2016 bike, an average of about 24k a year! Obviously well maintained but goes to show that bikes don’t fall to pieces when they have a fair few miles under their tyres.

This morning I rode to the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham for a BMW K1300S meet up. Over 20 bikes and riders attended and I was pleasantly surprised I had the only one in factory red Great fun, looking forward to the next one.

Tickets booked for the 100 Club in June. Really looking forward to seeing these guys. Along with Wolfmother, they'll be the second band from Oz I'll be seeing live this year.

Thanks man, hope you're enjoying your new ride too!

Yesterday I went out for a ride of my usual loop, about 165 miles. I felt a bit 'meh' so headed home after an hour and only 70 miles done. Strange, I don't normally feel like that. Kicked myself up the arse today and headed out again, Totally glorious ride. 210 miles done, stopping at Whiteways Cafe in Sussex (where I had a disgustingly glorious burger) , Seaford Beach (where I had an ice cream) and then Rye before heading back to Surrey. Only a couple of pictures as I spent most of my time riding the bike. That said, I fell in love with the K1300S again. It was supreme. I had pondered trading it in over the winter but now I really couldn't justify spending money (I don't have) on another bike when this one ticks all the boxes. On Saturday I'll be riding it to the K1300S meet at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham then I have 6 days in the Eifel area of Germany at the end of the month. Really looking forward to both trips. Looking forward to another year on the big K.

Locked and loaded. Got three days off and the weather looks great, I plan to fully enjoy the sunshine, it's been a long time coming.

I’ll be watching the MotoGP on TNT Sports and having a takeaway.

Not exactly with the bike but with the bike on video during my last ride in November, captured on the Osmo Action 3 I was trying out at the time. Bought it in a Black Friday deal, was quite cheap. It's replaced my 11 year old Drift Ghost HD, which to be fair, still records in 1080p/60FPS so I'm happy to keep that as a back up. Wind noise is horrendous on the Action 3, hence the soundtrack. Since then I've bought a mic adapter and a lav mic so that might improve it somewhat.

best security feature for bikes?
rob m replied to zee-659's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I have one of these, they're very strong. Great price too, I paid more than that for mine. At home I have an Oxford monster chain/lock along with an Abus chain/lock both through a wall anchor. On top of that I have a Monimoto tracker too. My bike isn't particularly valuable (probably worth about £3.5k as it stands) but I worked hard to buy it and don't want to lose it. -
Excitement or relief?

It's mad isn't it? Imagine parents wanting to protect their children from online paedophiles, abusers and radicalisers. Woke nonsense. PC gone mad. Whatever the Daily Heil says it is today. Maybe those parents who have had their children killed by online groomers in recent years are overreacting and the Online Safety Act should be scrapped as it's a box ticking exercise? Seriously though, the Online Safety Bill is much needed and this forum (with the rest of the internet) isn't exempt from the Act. Children may access this forum (for exampIe, I can access it offline and read most of the posts) so being careful what you post online is a prerequisite isn't it? Once you've hit the 'send' button it's out there for everyone to see. Own it. If it's racist, prejudiced, inciteful or unlawful then accept whats coming to you. If it's complies with the law then you're golden.

A week booked off work for a little trip to the Eifel 5th- 10th May. Eurotunnel booked too. Accommodation will be booked when I'm over there, depending what I do/end up. There was a nice hotel I stayed at last year that's 5 minutes from the Nürburgring or an Air BnB in Adenau that was also cheap so might see if they are available. Other than that, no plan at all, just a few GPX routes in the Garmin and see how it goes.

I owned two of them before my K13S, never let me down. I had the troublesome ABS servo bypassed on both of them, the conventional brakes worked better for me. On the second one, I had the clutch modified by John Sykes which was a massive improvement and had a Dynojet PC fitted which smoothed things out a lot. In a way they were both more exciting to ride than my K13 as they felt more 'raw'. Looking at forums I'm not the only one to say that. Beast of an engine. I sold the last one to buy a Triumph Sprint ST1050, something I regret to this day. Should have kept it, there was nowt wrong with it.

I've used Motobatt batteries on all my BMWs, they just work. Even with that weird arrangement with the allen bolts!

I’d echo that, the K Bikes forum is very useful as is the FB K1300S Riders group. The K Bikes forum have come up with some ingenious workarounds, there’s some clever guys on there.

Google Maps Extended Routes - my new favourite Chrome Extension

Added to my Chrome browser. Nice one, thanks! -
Took a peek under the cover for the first time since November and yes it's still there! Seriously though, in November I attached an Oxford Solariser to the battery (it sits in the front of my Stormex cover) and it started up like a good 'un today so it appears to be doing the job. I would have taken it for a little run, but to be honest I would have had to dress up like Nanook of the North and couldn't be arsed.

I’m considering partial retirement at the moment. I’m 56 years old next month and I’m starting to think it’s time to take my NHS pension and reduce my hours so I’m meeting with my manager next week to discuss. I’ve done my time and have paid into the pension for over 30 years but even then I couldn’t afford to give up work completely so want to reduce to 30 hours a week. I’ve lost a good mate who died earlier this year and another has stage 4 prostate cancer at the moment. You just don’t know what’s round the corner, I’d rather enjoy it now while I have the chance.

Awesome. FS19 was my saviour during the pandemic, I spent hundreds of hours on it cultivating my farm. Usually during Teams meetings Back to the question, the best was what my lad bought me, the 3 LP set of Oasis at Knebworth 1996. It sounds incredible on my turntable set up.. I don't really have a worst, even my secret Santa at work got me a Simon Weir euro tours book which made me happy. They know me so well
