  1. First off I am thinking McAfee There are Removal tools and Even a Wiki on how to remove it... Which I shall quote "Removing McAfee can prove to be difficult, and may require more work than uninstalling your average program." I have removed Malicious unwanted software more easily than it is to Remove McAfee. http://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-McAfee-Security-Center Plus to my mind McAfee prays on the week minded by bringing up big flash ups saying your secure or that you have cookies on your computer or that it blocked a cookie etc etc etc Presently I am using Windows Defender as it is the quietest Virus check I can find (I know its not the best), I used to use AVG then it started becoming memory/popup heavy... Other Software that falls into the same category: Norton Anti Virus is no better, HP Epson and other "essential" printer software, BT Software on PC or Phone / Tablet, Skype is Marginal but handy, It also wants to set your browser to Bing as search engine when you install watch for the tick box Facebook Apps rather than in browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader essential but what a PITA Always updating and producing Nag Screens, Oh and half the pre-installed Manufactures software that comes on phones and laptops.... Other than that my new laptop is fine Actually its a double grumble as my misses was complaining her laptop was going slow and she needed a new one.... She had a new printer so followed the instructions and installed the HP suite, she had installed the BT rubbish she had woken up a couple of pre-installed games packs. Quick run of CCLeaner and Malware anti bites uninstall all the junk - Oh my computers like new! Still had to explain to my misses you do not a software suite for your: phone, memory stick, printer, modem. They all want to give you this memory hogging stuff but all you need is the relevant driver and they tend to work better without that shit.... Or am I on my own in this rant?
  2. I am going to Semi Nominate me and a Red car.... Railway crossing waiting for barriers bike filters to the front (would be fool not to), barriers went up. He also handled car trying to pull out in front of him (they always do there) without a stress, the Landrover following on the other hand decided the car was stopped and he could fit through the gap. The car carried on pulling out without looking, I hit the brakes a little harder than needed. Driver in Red car has horrified look on his face as landrover slides towards him... I stops in time car driver gives me abuse for not stopping to let him pull out in front of him, whilst holding up oth lanes of traffic whilst other traffic stops to let him in... Knob. I have had the same happen a number of times on the bike (to the point if I see its busy I no longer filter to the front, even though it saves ALLOT of time), that driver might think twice before pulling in front of accelerating traffic...
  3. Just been told I well not be there. . Reason I have used my milage on my bike policy . The only way I can get more is to cancel policy and start afresh . I have made it very clear to them I am not happy, looking to gather information for to start a case against them.
  4. Thinking I Might be there. ..
  5. If any one is interested. .. https://m.facebook.com/groups/162526139 ... =bookmarks
  6. 12 months ago when I started I thought I was large, medium all felt too tight. That helmet soon became loose, so much so when I took a "gamble" and bought my medium I was pleased it was "tight" doing 69.999mph on the motorway home.... Now I am glad I got inflatable cheek pads, on motorway they get an extra pump....
  7. I will quote you on that in a couple of weeks when I have used them. My misses decided to treat me for my birthday. I went to the shop and they did not have my size, now she's only paying the deposit I get to pay the rest. ... PS infinity have a good deal on Rukka at the moment. ..
  8. i do hope this is a joke. my sense of humour will be restored if it is. It was not meant to be serious that's for sure . I am now monitoring with my misses a sample of twice is hard to draw conclusions from .
  9. I bought bungees did not work... Webbing straps and http://www.theratchetshop.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/b/cb25.jpg but in the end a cargo net as above was fine I just pass hooks through pillion rails and loop back onto net... Having sailed boats things don't need to be that secure on the back of a bike in comparison...
  10. I did not have to go over 40 in my test (Lee on Solent), can you not find a test center where there are no fast roads?
  11. It's a mixed bag, my passport just caused no end of fuss. I did a post office check and send and we where not quite precise enough. What I can say is the passport office wanted to help and tried to help. They also had to tick the relevant box's which seems fair enough... It does seem to depend who you speak to there..
  12. Listening with interest I bought some soft throw over panniers. I put the velcro straps under my seat, when I stop I just rely on the seat lock. When I arrive I take them off. When I go and see my mum I will just ensure its my dirty laundry on the top of the bags not any electronics. If someone decides to investigate the contents at a services as they cannot be easily locked. THen maybe I am to trusting...
  13. Cannot comment re other brands but I can I have used mine more in the summer, its very good at dissolving bugs of your visor.
  14. Wind is a curious thing... The force of the wind on a set area pretty much doubles between 20 knots and 25 knots of wind... Once wind being mentioned in TV forecasts its breezy which is a force 6 or a "Yachtsmans gale" which is 22-27 knots. After that they start mentioning the word gale which means kind of windy... On my 125 I used to stop at anything over a forecast of breezy. Then on the big bike I have ridden in windier than this, but I grew up on an exposed windy coast riding pushbikes... On the motorbike I always had issues with lorries and there "winds" until one dark night when I thought the lights where just a car. Them bloody great lorry passed, I was relaxed and dealt with it naturally with no effort. Took a bit of work to teach myself to relax, now I normally do not notice. Then saying relax and do not worry about it is often the worst thing to say .
  15. Tell me about it . Although I did manage a cracking ride this weekend no Tags
  16. A great ride I hope we all got there back after asafe ride..... Great atmosphere...
  17. I will see you there, I am coming down from Oxford area to Aces. If other forumites are going would be good to meet up...
  18. You might need FB to see it
  19. Did you play the insurance game? Being a domestic help rather than cleaner, a Cashier not a bank teller, a shop assistant not a sales assistant. Do you keep it on a drive or in the garden? It can make quite a difference. The same as lowering your excess can help. The other thing is try a different model of bike. I know my FZ6 costs me more than a bandit would or a Dueville by about a third...
  20. I had similar experience was not allowed on road first day, of course it was the centers fault not mine , similar grumbles. Did my CBT again at another center had a good morning and great ride, for various reasons did my DAS at another school... Best thing I did learned allot from all 3 centers....
  21. To calculate insurance go online and pretend you have got your CBT find a 125 Reg number you can borrow (E-bay/ Gumtree someone normally has there bike for sale and number plate visible). Then use a suitable price comparitor... My first year in my 40's with bike stored in garage was £150 with just a CBT.
  22. OK last night I got carried away: http://www.millets.co.uk/tents-camping/107838-eurohike-tamar-2-man-tent-red.html A little but cheaper at $30 but its packed length is 60 cm but that is not to much wider than my arse so should be fine.. Next is throw over panniers I saw these and I like: http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/givi-wp405-waterproof-throwover-panniers.html?gclid=CJLWg7_o0ccCFVdAGwodiKsD0g Then if I am not careful my misses will stop me buying a second bike for touring
  23. Stuck away from bike, with to much time to plan biking and boating things.... Not knowing when I am going to be home to execute them and probably will not be home long enough to either
  24. They keep me out of the house and away from telly :D
