yes, clean oil off, go for short ride or just push forks up/down a few times, have another look, if oil is back seals are gone.

I don't know of anywhere you can rent kit, She should buy her own helmet! If you buy right and get some bargains you should be able to sell for near enough what you paid. -

I have a Y reg 2001 fazer 1000, it's 1 of the very first ones! The inlet rubbers are badly perished and cracked on the outside although not actually leaking yet. The only bike specific parts I can find are genuine Yamaha and they want £130 + VAT However, I can get pattern rubbers for the same year R1 for £30 + VAT ! The question is, will they fit? I've asked 3, " experts", so far, 2 said yes 1 said no Anybody on here know?

It's really down to personal preference and the deal you can get at the time. Avons would be worth a look if you're after longevity. I've never been able to get on with michelin bike tyres!

only dress up on the sat though i think! the other rules are: you must drink, and you must drink!

yes if you've got a voltmeter. measure the voltage across the battery engine off, should be about 12v. start engine measure voltage across battery again should have gone up to about 13 ish. rev bike, volts should maybe go up a bit more. if volts are going up too much reg/rec is gone and this will fry battery. do the above and post results if still struggling.

as it's a honda it's probably the reg/rec on the way out!

It's damaging if you rev at or over the red line for any period of time. The confusion we have is if you actually mean a rev limiter or some form of restriction. restriction can be removed, if legal. a rev limiter should not be removed, it's there to protect the engine.
