  1. all newbies please note slow in fast out that's the way to do it worry about the rest in about 5 years
  2. i've got ebc sintered pads in mine, work well but make a funny hissing noise
  3. i would say 85% of time don't brake in corner, other time might drag back brake to steady bike, even drag front to stand bike up if i'm brave, certainly no heavy braking in mid corner though not a thing for new riders to be trying
  4. we have a resident yank pumillio, he's been here a while, you need to speak to him, your usa licence lasts a year i think during which time you have to do our test, might be 2 i might be wrong, talk to him either pm him or search his posts i'm sure this has been mentioned before
  5. well good luck, I know others will disagree, but it's one of the jobs I wouldn't do myself, too worried about joining chain properly!
  6. Do you want to do it yourself? I use wheelhouse tyres in coleshill, they'll do ride in ride out, costs a bit more but saves on hassle. Their number is in MCN, if you phone first and tell them make, model, year they'll sort you out! If you do want to do it yourself, have you got a manual? or handbook? should tell you in there.
  7. sounds like you're hitting a false neutral to me, can you adjust the gear selector? clutch? try changing up all the way through the box without revving it right to the limit, is that better? more info needed

    Any ideas??

reg/rec is a little box, probably with cooling fins on, that regulates and rectifies the output of the alternator/generator. honda's weakest point!, don't know about your bike.
  9. It's perfectly normal!, nothing to worry about. A slight clunk when you engage first is also normal and nothing to worry about
  10. I'm not really sure, suppose you could get lock stops welded back on but whoever did it would have to know what they were doing
  11. if you look at top of this section, there's a sticky with details and directions to meets
  12. got to work tomorrow now so i won't be there, sorry!
  13. well in that case i don't know, shop around, search fleabay for "long" gloves etc.
  14. put gloves inside sleeves, more waterproof that way anyway
  15. I went, with my kids, yesterday, had a great day, no queues, we went on all the big rides at least twice and some 3 or 4 times. was an expensive day out but we enjoyed it. Too much walking though!, my poor knees

    Any ideas??

i would pull fuses for extras, see if it improves, if still no good i would look at reg/rectifier, they're expensive though!, good luck
  17. i might go, will be early though, goes dark early now don't think there'll be many there, will keep an eye on this thread as won't decide for certain till last minute
  18. most people tend to start disappearing when it starts to go dark a few die-hards stay longer
  19. the other problems with buying from shows are if you go on bike you can't carry stuff home and if there's anything wrong with stuff you can't take it back
  20. just clean switch up, spray with electrolube, carefully bend contacts out a bit, should be ok
  21. good day out, thanks to all, nice to meet new people, pics in gallery
  22. i would go 2nd hand jap
  23. we are awake bit foggy here!, we're coming in car, see you all soon
