  1. I've got an almost brand new pair of oxtar boots that I was given, I can't get on with them. I usually wear a cheap pair of Akito boots, they haven't got a heel, the first time I wore the oxtars, they have a small heel, I got to the end of the drive, came to put my foot down, and couldn't!!!! I ended up leaning against the fence. I also can't change gear properly in them cos they've got no give in them to get my toe under the lever and they squeak, spines up the back similar to vertebras.
  2. Remind me about the Brum one and I'll try to make it Is it in the afternoon? could come straight from work.

    Bike Pulsing

I thought I had a similar problem when I first got the Blade, it was fine accelerating but trying to hold a steady speed it was jerking like mad. It was because I was holding the throttle too tight and as the bike is so responsive, it was going on/ off the gas all the time.
  4. I posted this before but I think it was on the other site, I've never been into leathers, always been a jeans and jacket man. Anyway last year I bought my first ever set of 2 piece leathers, Red, Black and White to match the bike. I struggled for half an hour, upstairs, to get them on, creaked down the stairs and went into the lounge to show the kids, they rolled about the floor laughing saying I was the red power- ranger!!! I've never worn them since.
  5. OK it's off the A493 going south from Dollgellau on the opposite side of the estuary from Barmouth. You follow the coast with just stone walls between you and the sea past Fairbourne then, almost as soon as you start to go inland, it's sign posted. If you get to a place called Bryn-y-Crug you've gone too far.
  6. Well done Gary, Nigel, you need to be careful, there are 2 Towyns (should be spelt Tywyn) one is near Rhyl/Colwyn bay one is near Abberdyfi /Aberdovey. This is the Aberdovey one. I will put directions on soon.
  7. Tonfanau is a 1 mile circuit, right on the coast. 4 times a year, on the Sunday before bank holiday mondays, they hold club racing organised by the Crewe and Nantwich combine. Normally they have 8 races repeated 4 times, so that's 32 races. Last year the admission price was £5. The circuit is between Towyn and Fairbourne (i will edit this later when i've looked at the map with road nos) It's worth a punt just for the ride there and back, the roads are fantastic.
  8. It's a bit wet/cold for me this week but if you're coming on your bike in July Niccki I'll definately meet up somewhere, one of the bike meets maybe?

    Quick Poll

I voted black, too much orange it will look like a tangerine
  10. I still think it's a turbo!, TDI's were the older ones, there are 2 HDI engines, 1 is 90ps the other is 115ps, but they're both turbos. now who's the geek?
  11. Vicks!! I'm pretty sure that, if it's a 53HDI, then it is a turbo.
  12. Not too far from me, but I'm working I don't think the weather's going to be very good though, could hardly keep the car on the road today, wouldn't fancy it on a bike.
  13. Some of WMR (west mids riders) are meeting at this cafe, this Sun 14th. I don't think they're doing a ride out just a meet.
  14. Quatt cafe on the A442 between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster. Gets packed on Sundays but there's always bikes there, even in the winter. Lots of plod about.
  15. On the A41, at Tern hill, close to Market Drayton. Thurs nights. Big meet, Food available, some trade stands. Opposite an army camp, good roads, lots of plod.
  16. This used to be the meet from the Wheel @ Worfield, the cops tried to close it down and there were big demonstrations, we even got on the TV news, it reopened then the landlady suddenly left and it closed again. Now the meet is at Swancote country club about a mile from the wheel. On the A454 between Bridgnorth and Wolverhampton. Food available. There's also a motoX track out the back. Lots of plod about be careful.
  17. Probably the biggest meet in the midlands, on the A38 fairly close to Birmingham. Food in the pub and there's a McDonalds, several trade stands. Well worth a visit if you've never been but get there early. Watch out for Plod, they're everywhere, even have the helicopter up in summer. Also used by WMR (west mids riders) to meet on Thurs. nights.
  18. Monday nights, The Bradford Arms. On the old A5 between Gailey and Weston-under-lizzard. A small but friendly meet, lots of Harleys etc. some sports bikes. Good pub, good food. Not too much interest from plod yet.
