  1. Yup... 6.2.3 "including a slalom" is missing. I think most countries do the same.
  2. Yeah mebbe, but when it comes to the motorcycle licence test, the EU directive says this My guess is that most EU countries miss out the less convenient bits.
  3. Thanks mate. I'd wondered if this was the case, wasn't sure though.
  4. Sorry to bang on with the same question but I've been asking myself thus for years and haven't found the answer.... On the test (ie ignoring the IBT) how were you tested for emergency stop, swerve avoidance, figure of 8, and for slalom?
  5. Very nice bike, sir. But you must a lot more bendy than me to ride it.
  6. I've done the same myself often enough. Sometimes it's too much effort, and it's not nice having to act like a nob.
  7. I'd agree with that. The supplier is responsible for ensuring they fit properly. You might have to find ways of being "more persuasive with them". My argument would be that if they are so difficult to put in correctly that I get it wrong every single time, then they are clwlearly not fit for purpose. If all else fails, and if you paid by credit card, consider a charge back. Use email when contacting customer services, so you have the evidence that you've tried to get the refund from the suppliers and they've refused.
  8. Does it matter if the hotel has a secure parking area for your bike? Yes, if it's in a city. No if it's in a small town, but even then the least I want is off-road parking, and out of sight of people passing through on the main road. Is it important for you to have a spot to dry clothes or even a small area for minor repairs? No Do you look for options like late check-in or early check-out flexibility? Late check in is often really useful. What about room comfort: is having a shower, a comfy bed, or maybe even a kitchenette something you value? I want a bit of space, as my kit takes up room, especially if I'm going to bring the panniers in. A comfy bed is good. Breakfast is a plus too. Or are there other factors you always check before booking a hotel? I usually pick a place on the edge of a town, so I don't have to spend ages in traffic getting to the place. I usually want to be up and out quickly in the morning.
  9. @Gerontious Well done mate. That looks awesome.
  10. @Fozzie Congratulations mate.
  11. MV Agusta TV SCS has had a recluse clutch since Methuselah had his Mark 1 delivered. It wasn't for me though... I couldnt work out how to feather the clutch.
  12. What I've never understood is how they get riders doing the figure of eight. I mean, that can't be safe on any road, can it?
  13. But no other European country has mod 1 centres. Nor do they have a separate mod 1 on private tarmac. They must all do their swerve avoidance, slalom and figure of eight testing on the public roads.
  14. Well done. Perfect timing too!
  15. Costs of building all those mod 1 testing centres must have been colossal. All those acres of beautiful tarmac.
  16. The Ninja is correct. If you took your test on a 300, they will only have given you an A2 licence. If you want an unrestricted licence, you'll have to re-take mod1 and mod2 on a 600 or a 650. Sorry not to have better news.
  17. Yes it could.

    CBT

Are you asking about what's legal? Or what's feasible? If it's what's feasible, then a lot depends on whether you drive a car. If you do, then yes, it's not too big a leap to get on a bike and do a CBT on a 125. It's even easier if you can ride a push bike too. If you've never driven a car, then it's a lot to learn. You can do it, but it might take you a few goes. Alternatively, you could ask the school if they can offer one or two 1:1 sessions so you can get up to speed with some basic control of the machine before you have to take on the figures of eight and managing the indicators and actually riding on the road on the CBT.
  19. Here's one for you mate, not too far from home. The One Bull - Google Maps

    Hi Everyone

    Hi there. Welcome in.
  21. Since it's comparing costs with Ireland, it seems odd not mention that insurance in the UK is still loads (like several times) cheaper than the cost there.
  22. I got my Rukka jacket secondhand from ebay about 10 years ago. It's still 100% waterproof. It's laminated gore-tex. To be fair, the HG waterproof jacket I have, which must be 20 years old now, is nearly as good and hasn't a drop of gore-tex in it.
  23. I find that that waze does a good job of telling you how long a journey will take. Put in the journey and when you need to arrive and it will even give you a notification when you should leave.
  24. Just curious - whyzzat?
