  1. @Gerontious Well done mate. That looks awesome.
  2. @Fozzie Congratulations mate.
  3. MV Agusta TV SCS has had a recluse clutch since Methuselah had his Mark 1 delivered. It wasn't for me though... I couldnt work out how to feather the clutch.
  4. What I've never understood is how they get riders doing the figure of eight. I mean, that can't be safe on any road, can it?
  5. But no other European country has mod 1 centres. Nor do they have a separate mod 1 on private tarmac. They must all do their swerve avoidance, slalom and figure of eight testing on the public roads.
  6. Well done. Perfect timing too!
  7. Costs of building all those mod 1 testing centres must have been colossal. All those acres of beautiful tarmac.
  8. The Ninja is correct. If you took your test on a 300, they will only have given you an A2 licence. If you want an unrestricted licence, you'll have to re-take mod1 and mod2 on a 600 or a 650. Sorry not to have better news.
  9. Yes it could.

    CBT

Are you asking about what's legal? Or what's feasible? If it's what's feasible, then a lot depends on whether you drive a car. If you do, then yes, it's not too big a leap to get on a bike and do a CBT on a 125. It's even easier if you can ride a push bike too. If you've never driven a car, then it's a lot to learn. You can do it, but it might take you a few goes. Alternatively, you could ask the school if they can offer one or two 1:1 sessions so you can get up to speed with some basic control of the machine before you have to take on the figures of eight and managing the indicators and actually riding on the road on the CBT.
  11. Here's one for you mate, not too far from home. The One Bull - Google Maps

    Hi Everyone

    Hi there. Welcome in.
  13. Since it's comparing costs with Ireland, it seems odd not mention that insurance in the UK is still loads (like several times) cheaper than the cost there.
  14. I got my Rukka jacket secondhand from ebay about 10 years ago. It's still 100% waterproof. It's laminated gore-tex. To be fair, the HG waterproof jacket I have, which must be 20 years old now, is nearly as good and hasn't a drop of gore-tex in it.
  15. I find that that waze does a good job of telling you how long a journey will take. Put in the journey and when you need to arrive and it will even give you a notification when you should leave.
  16. Just curious - whyzzat?
  17. Going to try this when I next wash the window sills.
  18. Ear plugs are 100% essential kit. Deafness and tinnitus aren't a lot of fun.
  19. Looks like it's available on YouTube mate
  20. I remember when all we had to burn was elm. Grumpy, fussy logs there are, they sit for hours and grumble and smoke "like churchyard mould". But if you got them into exactly the right position, they would eventually properly catch light and when they did, they would throw out the heat. But you either froze or roasted; there was no in between.
  21. Yes, of course we could burn what we liked - it's not like the sweep was policing us or anything. But dry wood leads to more heat out of each log (and cleaner chimneys, and cleaner emissions). We used to use our log burner every night, rather than the central heating. We stored the logs until they were 10% water content (as measured by the sweep). You could tell they were good to burn as they were light as a feather. 4 10" logs would keet us warm for the whole evening.
  22. Yeah ours used to check the wood too. Given up on fires now though, too much hard work stacking logs each year.
  23. A supermoto perhaps?
  24. There are a lot of bikes out there than would be a great match for you and would outshine the Tiger: the 1250GSA, 1250GS, 1200GS (2015 bikes and later are excellent), the Africa Twin, Versys 1000, the new Versys 1100, VStrom 1000 just to name a few. I'd suggest taking your time over making a decision. Go and test ride them all and find out which of them make you smile. You're not in a rush - you've taken the big hit on depreciation when you rode the Tiger away from the dealer, and another 6 months or a year won't make a lot of difference.
