    I did this. It wasn't a planned thing, I just got a moped, stuck on some L plates, and rode it to work and back for a year. Then later I decided to learn to ride a bike and so did my CBT. It very likely made it a lot easier on the day.

    About to get buy some insurance. Bikesure look like a front runner. I've read about the forum discount, but last time when I phoned, the person on the other said flatly there was no discount for TBMF members. I probably said the wrong thing... so what's the right thing to say? Or is this discount just mythical?

    Cheers [mention]Stu[/mention] but I've decided to for phone only. If I find it gets frustrating, I'll think about a sat nav later. I've decided not to go for X_Grip or anything where you can release the phone with one hand; I just think it makes it too easy to nick while you're waiting at the lights. Quad Lock looks good, and I like the looks of ultimateaddons' stuff too. Ultimateaddons have the slight edge as they have a case that is reasonably waterproof, and my phone is notoriously famous for frying itself in water.

    Lol. I tried your ebay link out just now, but couldn't find the item so guessed it had sold. As said, I don't want a sat nav if I can avoid it, as it squabbles with the phone over who gets to talk to the Cardo. Last time I tried it (the night the Tiger got stole ), the nav went sulky and silent on me for a couple of hours and then splurged all its pent up instructions in a 5 minute long stream. Proper sat nagging.

    How are you doing with the mount [mention]raesewell[/mention] ? Is it still holding up? Asking as I'm tossing up in my mind between phone mount or satnav. I'd like find a way to use the phone as I don't want end up with a phone / sat nav fight like Stu has.

    That sounds like the one. He rides an S1000XR, so 50% wild, 50% sensible.

    26 and 29 on the DRZ. I think it's 17 all round on the VanVan. But 36 and 42 has worked well for me on everything else.

    Don't know if this is much help: The older guy who runs the Helmet City store in Cheddar is getting a lid done for his wife. If you're passing that way, it may be worth dropping him and asking him.

    To be fair the OP probably wouldn't have got pulled for the exhaust either,he got tugged for displaying illegal number plate Hmm. I think I had one of those as well

    Bad luck My old GSX-R600 had an unmarked exhaust. A bit on loud side, but it passed the MOTs cos the guys said they had no way to measure the noise level. I was just lucky that I never got pulled for it.
