  1. If you still get the same symptoms after doing all you have listed, then try running with the fuel cap loose (or even off). If this 'cures' the problem, then it is a blocked tank breather (normally a pin hole in the tank cap or a breather pipe running from that area). If you do have water in the fuel, then running on 'normal' rather than 'reserve' will keep the water out of the carb (unless there is a large amount of water in the tank). Report back how you get on.
  2. Ink Spots Johnny & the Hurricanes (people who could play their instruments and not rely on the sound effects studio).
  3. The manual states 'battery' quite a few times in the 'electrical' section?????
  4. Neil, If you need a bit of tlc - pop round for a bevvy this evening.
  5. Already feeling better - Thanks Gin.
  6. Kettering to Willy Woods only 50 miles! My map must be wrong!
  7. Got stung by a bee on Sunday - Left palm - Too painful to ride the bike at the mo. F**k It
  8. There would appear to be other 'non-standard' bits as well. BSA Owner's Forum gives circa £1,200 for similar condition (old advert though!).
  9. Sorry - Not available as I'll be in Scotland!
  10. Last one I had I rang up the manufacturer and they stated that a repair (of any sort) to a 'High Speed' rated tyre was not recommended - Therefore I got a new one! Up to you really.
  11. It certainly sounds like fuel starvation. If you want to stick with your new carb - I think you will need to increase the jetting (how much - no idea?). Have you tried with the air filter removed? This may give a few more clues to the problem. I assume spark is OK and constant?
  12. How about 29th September at your place - that way you can have a lie in.....
  13. I don't SORN the Bandit. I do SORN the MZ (as I've yet to finish 'fixing' it.
  14. Great lower priced GPS. Can be operated with gloves on (once the destination addy has been entered). Clear Display (can do '3D' or 'Split Screen'). Bluetooth connectivity up to about 10 metres - Works well with Scala-Rider. Battery Life (un-powered) about 1 hour from fully charged. Has Traffic Alerts and automatic re-route (if selected). Power supplied via mini-usb - Cable contains 'boost' antenna - and 12v 'lighter' plug. NOT WATERPROOF.
  15. Looking at the vanishing point last year in the lakes (Breaknose Pass) did not help when I found a sheep staring straight back at me! Damn, that grass / tussocky stuff is 'bouncy'! Exeprience as you ride will play a big part in cornering but, the best advice is to concentrate on positioning before the corner and where to look (vanishing point) whilst cornering. If your anus muscles tighten, then you are probably too fast! Take it easy - build your confidence and it will all start to become easier and really enjoyable - That is why most bikers just love 'twisty' roads!
  16. It might help (for the future) if you put your location (town/village) in your profile - I assume it is near Birmingham from your site name). If a member is close, we can pop round and try and help fix things, or find out exactly what the problem is. There are many helpful people on here - but we need to have the cahance to do so.
  17. Yeah....we saw him going the opposite direction when we got onto the Papworth By-pass.....and I did wonder if he was going to turn round and follow us........but he didn't catch-up.....so I guess he wasn't after us...... Great to see you too Steve.....last time was at the rally......and nice to see the regulars too...... But you weren't there?????
  18. Can't be Neil - That guy in the video has more hair!
  19. Can't attend as I'm ringing at a wedding that day. Route: A1 till it changes to A1(M). Turn left onto A507 through Baldock to A10 at Buntingford. A10 to A406 (Palmer's Green) Trn Rt (North Circular) past Wmbley; Brent Park and over the Railway. next left onto Abbey Road and then double back over the North Circular and turn rt onto Circuklar Road. Ace is on the left. Simples.
  20. Tyre suppliers (Black circles for one) - (or is it round & black?) will get a tryre delivered to a local delear for you (check with the garage first though!) and fitting/balancing to loose wheels should cost you between £15 and £20. Taking the wheel off (and re-fitting) yourself is a peice of wee. Doing it this way can save you loads.
  21. Have you actually checked to see if you have a good spark at the plug (take it out and connect it to the HT lead and hold (insulated pliers) the body of the plug against the metalwork of the engine when trying to start it)? If that is OK, then the probable answer is that the starter dog (gear) is not engaging. What should happen is that the dog is thrust forwards on the stater shaft to engage with the engine gearing and turn it over. You can check this whilst the plug is out (put your thumb over the plug hole and engage the starter - You should feel your thumb being 'blown out' from the hole). Good luck.
