  1. I really did need to know that Neil - F**k It!
  2. Is that any General or, generally any Army person, or just F**k It? F**k It.
  3. Strap your bag behind you on the seat - Same for a tent (unless there is one to share or a spare still available). The Rally is a superb get-together. Fancy Dress is optional Usually have a ride out (for Fish & Chips lunch) on't Saturday / Sunday. Come along and I am certain you will not regret it!
  4. Not all the same nutters - I can't make this one I will be at the Rally though
  5. Spilt my tea - F**k It
  6. Domms season now finished and weather is deffo getting warmer! See you all soon!
  7. I can beat it - What are we talking about anyway? Lost the plot! F**k It
  8. and ....... F**k It? F**k It!
  9. Just get the 'proper' connectors with the snap-in pin sockets (available from all good electronic stores) and do the job properly, just taping up will lead to problems down-stream. Trust me, I've been there!
  10. Must be about time someone put a piccy of Neil in (well half-in) his tent on this thread - What with all the talk of sharing tents, etc.
  11. Not that you would be capable of getting it up (I mean putting it up ) after a few beers and a couple of Elvis tracks!!!
  12. Can't even remember what I was going to put in this thread now! Might have been.......... No, that was not it....... yes....... No......... maybe....... Well OK then. bye.
  13. Just F'@king Do It!!!! F**k It
  14. Ian (AKA SK something or other - 93?) is not coming at the moment. And, Ruthie - you'll be safe (unless..........).
  15. Likewise! NO WE ARE NOT SHARING (yet - )
  16. A Stanley blade used as a smoothing plane will work - I've done this lots of times. Keep the blade horizontal and 90 degrees to the edge angled back at around 30 degrees (if that makes sense?). Do not 'saw' but smootly push the blade. Use gasket paste (Hermitite (select correct grade {colour} dependant on the seal required) on the new gasket. Ensure inside cover is completely clean and WD40 free before re-assembly. "Bolt Head Thing" - unfortunately my work PC blocks some pictures so I can't see what you are on about. If this is the thrust rod, then you just need to push it back in place. It will come out if you have pulled the clutch lever during your work. Best advice is to consult the workshop manual (Haynes are not too bad).
  17. There is a very good aluminium low-temperature welding kit available from t'internet. I've used it to create alloy brackets but the video demo shows how to 'fill' a hole in a coke can (approx 1p size0 so should be good for anywhere on yoursilencer (but not the down-pipes).
  18. From a shop / Ebay / other internet site. You should check the bulb first though as it may be the switch is shot - To check, identify the wires to it (if you cannot, then you'll need to remove the bulb). Disconnect wires/remove bulb and attach either an ohmeter or bulb checker (essentially a 6v battery) across the bulb contact - If the ohmeter does not read anything sensible (should be less than 10K Ohms but NOT Zero (short circuit)) or, with the tester, it does not glow (dim), then it is shot. If bulb OK - Check the switch or cabling.
  19. To clear rust:- 1. remove tank from bike and remove petrol fittings (including the any internals). 2. Put small-sized gravel into tank and shake like the devil for about 5 minutes. 3. Empty and flush through with clean water. 4. Add some 'rust cure' (there are various makes) and 'slosh around' until complete inside of tank is coated. 5. Allow to thoroughly dry. 6. rebuild, refit and re-fill tank. If the rust problem is very bad, either replace the tank or, use a tank sealing kit (not cheap). Good luck,
  20. I've binned the tent idea and got a room booked instead - COMFORT!!!! Fancy Dress.... Still deciding. You may recall I was that 'Hippy'. It was well hot under that wig! TC has decided to come as a 'Diddy Man' (continuing the small TV Cartoon charater theme) {NB. Not necessarily the truth but....} Looking forward to seeing Neil dressed up as Kate Bush (as she came from upt'north). Is anyone running a lottery on how many 'Storm Troopers' will appear this year? I think a 'Gorilla' jumping out in front of passing traffic should be discouraged - We got away with it last year (thank God). All in all - I hope the weather is OK as it will increase the level of 'fun'. See you ALL there.
  21. F**k It!
  22. Simple Rule - if you are not sure if it is safe - DON'T DO IT!!!
  23. Back Brakes are not that efficient. Find a straight, clear and dry bit of road - travel at a steady 30mph and put brake on hard (clutch in), bike should slow and stop fairly quickly (if back wheel locks, release brake!). Alternatively, sit on the bike and put full pressure on footbrake - Get matey boy to try and push you forward - if the bike moves (turning the back wheel), you have a problem! I only use the footbrake when sationary; gently when using the front brake and as a 'balance' when cornering (again very gently). However, my twin disk anti-lock front brake works perfectly OK!
  24. No-one seems to be following the convention and stating "F**k It" so F**k IT!!!!
