OK, here we go then:- GOG DaddyG Tink eastaglianbiker acemastr (meet with Lincs at Newark) Mojo Jonathan Crofts Okcoky We will need to leave Brampton @ 08:45 looking to get up to the Winthorpe (Total) petrol station at 10:00am in order to meet uop with those coming up from the Midlands (Midlands / Lincs). The meet is at the junction of the A46 and A17 - Post code NG24 2DF. Can we all therefore meet up at Brampton (entrance to Huntingdon Racecourse (wait just off the roundabout)) at 08:45 at the latest! Route will be simple - staright up the (boring) A1 to the A46 at Newark. We will sort out the lead and tail bikes before we leave. Any 'problems' please PM me. See you all there.

The actual spot is the TCS Winthorpe Service Station (Total) which is on the junction of the A17 (yep - typo) and the A46 - Post Code NG24 2NZ See you there around 10:00am.

That link doesn't work on my PC! Best description I can give is: North up the A1. Turn right onto the A17 and the Service Staion is just past (or on) the roundabout east of the A1. Please advise what time you all expect to get to this spot and I'll work our Brampton leaving time back from that to ensure we get there about the same time.

No time as yet - need to contact the Lincs guys and work the time back from there. Will let you know on this thread and by PM. Any changes, please let me know.

Definately a balance problem - Take the wheel to a garage and get it checked. Also check for uneven tyre wear.

Replace it yourself and save loads more!

Or, the float (holed) or, the float frame been bent slightly (easily done), or a seal missing. Strip and check - easy job. Dripping fuel not normally a fire risk - ask any Old Bike rider!!! But, should be sorted - don't leave it.

Penetrating Oil (WD40 will do) - Drip/spray lots every hour or so for a day - leave overnight - re-spray and leave for 10 minutes, tap with wooden/plastic mallett and it should start to free. Alterntative (if you don't need the old exhaust pipe and sleeves / clamps): Cut off the pipe about 2 inches from the cylinder - cut longways internally (need a decent free-blade metal saw) and, once through, crush with a vice / mole grips and extract. Warning: If you do this, remove cyliner head and barrell and througally clean out any swarf. Rebuild, flush oil through before filling crankcase. Paitence is needed! Good luck.
