  1. From what I can recall, there is a 'clamp' which restricts the shaft movement and effectively holds the lever out (or in whatever position you select). Take off your tank and have a gander - may be an easy fix. NB. Should this thread not be in 'Pitstop'?
  2. But don't sign your name in your girlfriend's handwriting!
  3. Fuse (trip and re-set type)
  4. Fresh urine unfreezes bike locks quickly (and the smell soon vanishes as you ride the bike)
  5. Wife just smashed her car up. F**k It. PS. She's OK.

    please help

    1. Ensure that the wheel is fully back against the adjusters - You may need to pull the wheel to do this. 2. Tighten the Axle nut until it is just better than had tight (approx hand tight + 1/8th turn). 3. check wheel alignment (count the marks left and right) and adjust nuts as follows (loosen chain side / tighten non-chain side) until the alignment marks are now the same. 4. Physically check that the wheel is straight with respect to the frame - If so, all is well. If not you have a problem (see advice at the end of this list). 5. with the bike verical, and someone sat on it (about your weight), adjust the nuts 1/4 turn at a time until chain tension is correct (about 1/2 to 3/4 inch vertical movement in the middle). Make sure you adjust the nuts the same way (i.e. tightening by pulling the wheel rearwards). Fine tune adjustment as necessary. 6. Put bike on centre stand and with the rear wheel off the ground, turn wheel and ensure there are no tigh spots on the chain (if so, minor adjust (loosen) until OK). If this cannot be achieved, you need a new chain & sproket set! If wheel not aligned (4), then either the adjusters are fitted incorrectly, are not a matched pair, the rear frame is twisted, the wheel is buckled. Seek professional advice if you cannot spot the problem. All the best,
  7. Your face is fuzzy - Must be to protect the public!
  8. Neil asked me to post this info as 'he can't remember it' (or something) Anyway, travel tip - Going south down the A1 towards M25 there are delays at the Hatfield Tunnel (repair work) but these not too bad. Come off at the exit for St Alban's immediately after the tunnel (hint - you need to be in the left hand lane going throught the tunnel). Follow the dual carriageway all the way to where the roundabout is for M1 (straight on) and M25 (bear left - 2nd exit). IGNORE M25 route and carry on the A141 to the M1, then follow Watford and M25 signs aiming for Juntion 19 (look this up on a map first - you'll see what I am getting at). Join M25 at J19 and that way you are almost at the end of the 'terrible' M25 road works, missing most of the MAJOR delays. J11 or J13 for Thorpe Park (NOT J12!). Hope you have a nice time.
  9. Just feel really down so F**k It!!!!!!!!
  10. Was looking to see why the Police were directing traffic off the A1(M) (opposite lanes) when I saw the 'nice man' with his speed gun pointed in my direction. Quick glance at the Speedo.....97! F**k It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Why is there no-one watching me? F**k It.
  13. Yes.... But I'm not!
  14. The mechanical speedo cable cannot revolve too quickly (giving a higher speed indication) - More likely is the old one was binding (stiff). Check with a GPS. End should be lightly greased - stops corrosion.
  15. Did you connect positive to positive? If not fuses will blow! Sounds like either a flat battery or a siezed starter motor.
  16. Brilliant Roy! Just need to put your profile (an Neil if he opens this thread) onto here and 'sell your soul' Ruthie - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (not quite a quote from A Sewell). Anyway, Roy looks far worse in a dress than you do.
  17. Also check the drive sprokets and chain for wear - can cause 'stiff points'. Check bearings are correctly installed (correct torque) - A couple of years ago my Yamaha 750 triple failed MOT "excessive play in back wheel". I sourced and bought new bearings and when I went to fit them, found the originals were only in hand-tight. Tighned to correct torque and problem solved! PS. Anyone want to buy the bearings I bought - unused and in mint condition!!!
  18. Its raining!!!! F**k It!
  19. Car got a puncture (yes it has!). Problem with a dodgy distributor cap (honest). Headlight not working. Odd knocking sound. Low oil. etc, etc, etc.
  20. Stuck at work till 4pm - Blue Skies - No wind - F**k It!!!
