Thats sucks Glorian. Especially as you were in a proper lane and making reasonable progress based on your lane conditions. The other day I was filtering down the north circular between the inside and middle lane. There is a bike with L plates a fair way in front of me. There is also an onramp approaching. Mr L Plates decides it would be a better idea to filter down the far left hand side between the inside lane and onramp so weaves between a van and a car and then weaves around all the traffic trying to merge in

Whilst the truck driver was being a dangerous moron. Why was Mr Stockdale in the sodding middle lane when there was nothing in the inside lane AND AND!!! he was getting off at the next junction? I hate middle lane drivers with a passion.

Ah the DVLA. How we all love thee. Personally - I read it as the top bit saying you can't exchange your licence. And the bottom bit saying you can't apply for a new one

I'm floored the DVLA got back to you so quickly! But it seems to say you can't get a provisional if you have a ban? So you couldn't get a UK one or exchange it. That's just how I'm reading it.. edit - the second bit seems to be if you have been banned until you re-take your test but there isn't necessarily a time limit on how long before you can take it? Maybe a medical disqualification

I saw the news about the shooting. Terrible that this just keeps on happening over and over and over Did anyone see Russell Howard a while back where he showed the video of a gun shop opening in New York? It was targeting people who wanted to buy their first gun, but every gun in the shop had a small tag on it saying how many people it had killed and it what circumstances. There were small handguns that children had got hold of in the house and shot a sibling right up to the semi automatics used for a school shooting. It was pretty chilling and (whilst I am aware these things aren't always 100% real) it did seem to deter people. It's on youtube if anyone wants to watch ">

Pretty sure due to the EU licence agreement if you're banned there you're banned here I'm afraid. So probably won't be allowed a provisional until the ban is up

Yeah Wood Green and Tottenham Hale have quite bad reputations and I can think of a few incidents in the last four years but I think the majority were stabbings rather than shootings (which isn't really better but I'm not sure the gun gang problem is quite as bad as some fear mongering media will have you believe). Like the 7/7 bombings? I don't think armed officers could have done anything in that instance and I don't recall any increase in the call for armed officers from people living here. This post sounds a lot more arrogant in text form that in my head! It's not meant to be

Personally I don't think all police need to be armed as I don't think for the majority of the time they would need to be (most people here don't have guns). I know armed officers are at "high risk" areas (Downing street, Buckingham palace etc), but do they need to be armed in a town High Street? Is a shopping centre high risk? Would armed police officers be a deterrent to terrorists (probably not), would they be able to prevent it happening? Debatable. Am I asking more questions than I am answering? Maybe. As a law abiding citizen I have no problems with the police

Hey Chris, I replaced the plugs a while back they had a very thin white covering (not crusty like in the bottom left picture in your link) which I think means it's running a bit rich? The plugs were all in good nick otherwise. Glorian I am outraged you can't be bothered to read the very very exciting thread about all the crap my bike has been doing
