I feel slightly more confident tackling electrical / cooling issues than a head gasket so fingers crossed! Thanks guys Will read the ole Haynes book later and get a battle plan together for checking! I do need to take the fairing off anyway to fix my wonky indicator so I can get a good look around.
  2. but...but if I put my details in people may actually contact me and ask me to do stuff. (I jest we have have a company standard. Which includes our fax number. Does anyone actually even use faxes anymore??) The thing that annoys me the most in my job is people who call saying they have forgotten the combination to their padlock and is there a way you can reset the code.
  3. This is actually a little bit genius... but as you hate board games so much I'll take this idea off yoru hands....
  4. Adults don't notice a full size person on a full size bike with lights and noise on the road so your finger doesn't stand a chance! anyways back to BOARD GAMES BOARD GAMES BOARD GAMES! I've just purchased the MotoGP Monopoly. It's in English and Spanish so I can build my hotel empire whilst learning a second language.

@Igloo yeah started fine but heats up really quickly (but it alway has). I guess I am wary of causing more damage as I am a complete noob. @Eastanglianbiker turned ignition on without starting and oil and temp light on. Normally only oil light on when I start. After 20 mins turned ignition and temp light now off The oil needs changing anyway so I can properly check for water

I don't think the fan came on. But I was attempting to navigate across two lanes of rush hour London traffic so there is a possibility they did and my brain didn't register it Did feel and smell hot can't give an exact temp as I'm an idiot and didn't check. I can tell you that 10 mins later it was at 54 if that helps

Thanks guys No milky residue but the guy said as I'd stopped as soon as it happened then it wouldn't have emulsified. Coolant colour ok (possibly the only think ok on the Damn thing!) I'll double check these! but I should have mentioned it was running really really hot and normally only my oil light comes on not the temp light.

Me again So. Riding home from work came to a roundabout and as I was waiting it was idling at a smidge over 2000. Checked the throttle wasn't stuck. Nope. Rode another 5 mins down a 50 mph duel carriageway to another set of lights where it was idling around 1600 (it seems happier idling at this speed to the recommended 1300 so wasn't worried) Head off again ok for another 3 or so minutes on a 50mph road. Coming up to traffic lights, braked and started changing down. Bike dies. Oil light on. Temperature light on. I'm in the outside lane rude words were muttered. Get it started on the fourth attempt and make it into the middle lane. Brake and it dies again. More rude words. Indicate left as bike refusing to start. Manage to barge in front of a stupid bmw driver and paddle my way down a side road and get on the pavement. More rude words. Turn ignition all warning lights still on. Decide this is the reason I have break down cover and call the cavalry. Oil and coolant levels ok. Rescue man arrives and loads me into the van. His theory is head gasket and water is leaking into oil but I'd love a second opinion from you lovely lovely people Also if it is head gasket is this something I could realistically do myself? Or should I suck it up and call a garage? Looks like it's back to the 125 for a while!

I'd be up for it! Rant can go find some Chinese bikes to kick instead
  13. I noticed when we were looking to rent most places are a year minimum now. Although I think on ours there was something in the small print that said after 6 months we could give a months notice? That estate agent was an idiot though so they may just have copied and posted the entire thing off the internet. Ooh have fun house shopping next year Also be prepared to call your solicitor and the estate agent Every. Single. Day to get them to do anything. My top tip is to be as annoying as possible so they do stuff to make you go away!

Twilight Imperium has a pretty epic box! I'd be down for a TMBF board game meet! I used to meet some mates in a pub in Mornington Crescent for games as they have a "game room" with big tables

ooh I have played that (but it was the Shogun packaging). Annoyingly there aren't too many good strategy games for two players but we do have Twilight Struggle which is pretty epic (nothing to do with sparkly vampires thankfully). https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/123 ... t-struggle
  16. I shall join you in your despair - Two bed place down the road from me was being rented out at £1300 pcm. Which is why people are being forced to live with family for longer because there's no way you can save up for a deposit whilst paying that. I've had to make do with renting a garage
  17. Hey Matt, out of interest was that nation wide or area specific? I'm not looking to rent out my place just curious as London rent is ridiculous! I imagine it's one of a few places that is still massively profitable for landlords

Ok I have no idea what you're all talking about now. I'm still playing Sim City 2000 and Doom on DOSBox

OOh I had an Amiga and there was a pinball game for it that was pretty epic. I'm behind the times though, I still use my N64 and Gamecube (you bought a gamecube?? Yes, yes I did)
  22. Other half bought a bike that unbeknown to him had been "glooped" we were going to Brands Hatch when must have ran over something that put a hole in the tyre. Gloop EVERYWHERE. Seriously EVERYWHERE. And it's a bugger to clean off bodywork by the time you get home a couple hours later.
