  1. The chap we bought my wife's Hornet from had been contacted by the local Superbike Factory within hours of his bike going on Autotrader. They said they'd offer him the list price but would arrange an appointment for an assessor to come and check the bike first. I can't help but think that that assessor would be like the webuyanycar people who turn up and then argue there's loads of reasons they can't now give you the full offer they'd made.

I'd assume that's probably correct, I've phoned for an estimate for a trade in or their bike buying service. It's always ridicolously low.

  2. Oh Megawatt.... I was always amazed how each year his chosen outfit was always more scandalous (and vomit inducing) than the last... Quite a feat!

Then Beefy tried to outdo him and instead looked so good in a skirt he made some of the biker blokes question their sexuality! Including a random local bloke he picked up at the bar by accident

There was no question to that blokes sexuality

    Tell thee what kidder.

    Tha pulled

How many beers did he buy you?

And then you left him...

One, that I remember. I did wait a while to tell him I had a missus and kids

  3. I think you'll find this picture sums up a typical rally night

  4. The weak point on all but the 2013 model is the cam chain tensioner and the reg/rec.

The reg/rec never went wrong in mine, but I did fit an uprated one on the F6 just in case.

The F4i onwards comes with a Mofset from factory :thumb:. Mine did pack up last year however

Took Honda 2 decades to finally sort it!

I replaced mine when an 08 fireblade at work popped its reg/rec. I heard they were fitting better units, so whether it was an improvement but some still went wrong I don't know.

The worry was it could take out the stator when it went wrong so I just didn't want to risk it for the sake of £50-£60.

Think my favourite was actually the old FS

You don't see many in that colour! Mines the best colour obviously, being red.

  5. That's what I've got Beans, Robbo at SCM has done plenty of work on mine and knows them pretty well :thumb: . Parts are pretty easy to come by, never had any issues - they were one of the most popular selling bikes for a while so there's plenty of them.

Really good bikes, if you look at any check if it's had a new cam chain tensioner recently and feel under the exhuast pipes as they like to rust through.

  6. Honda Africa twin this morning going into Trafford park.

I was on the roundabout, could see him snap a quick look from a joining dual carriageway, we are going to hit if he pulls out, he gives it a burst of acceleration now meaning if I don't slow down I'm going to T-bone him. So I give a quick tap of the brake, so he glides 10 feet in front of me. Then turns out he was in the wrong lane for the direction he was going and was pulling a double nob move.

Judging how clean his bike and gear were, today is one of his first days out for the year, and the rusty ability was clear to see...

Was it a red one with panniers and a top box?

  7. They aren’t on the Oliver’s mount site for some reason, tickets are here :thumb: - https://www.dukevideo.com/prdOMGC/Olivers-Mount-Gold-Cup-2019-Ticket

Just looked. I'm not due to be working so will come over.

Probably commute each day from caravan.

Although.... If it's just me n daft lad we could use the tent from hell again :crybaby:

    Tip.

If Taking kids. Camp away from the knobs :thumb:

Yep mate taking the lot of us, camping. We need to buy a tent, you'll have to let me know which is the knobs end

  8. Going to book the gold cup when I get paid. Any one know which day is best to go? I was going to book Sunday tickets but not sure if Saturday is better and there’s no info on the website about a race programme

I keep looking in website , no events listed for 2019 :?

I saw your rant in a facebook group  I did enjoy it. (the rant, not your misfortune)

  10. Just make a throwaway facebook account with a random name and location to access it.

Is that as easy as it sounds?

Yes, it's the same as making a facebook account for yourself, takes probably 2 minutes. Except you use a fake name and random location. Even use a brand new email address if you don't want them accessing that too :thumb:

  11. Jesus , what's up with a bit of Micky taking nowadays .... if this subject came up in a cafe or in a pub on a ride out , would every one be jumping down some ones throat cause they made a comment or ligh hearted joke about it .

Op wasn't offended every one else wades in defending with their swords and shields

    Fooking snowflakes

I just wanted an excuse to call Mike a bitter old man, cause I think he's a knob :thumb:

  12. What do you consider 'youth'?

    :stupid:

I'd be very interested to know where your threshold is on this.

By the following use of snowflake I would assume you mean "Millennials".

Yeah but you think 27 is middle aged :(

  13. It would also have been so much easier if I was born with all the knowledge I would ever need to get through life, but sadly that isn't how it works.

The way we learn is through teaching and mistakes.

But when I make a mistake you all bully me :(.

I suppose you guys do try help after loling at me first.

    :D

  14. Common sense seems to be sorely lacking in modern youth

I suppose you're infinitely more wise, because you just hand over all your dosh to a dealer to do these jobs for you? You come across a very bitter old man.
