Well done Aerodyll.
I'm just going outside to remove my L plates too on my 125.
-
So the garage has called me back and will come out (hopefully next week) to sort it. They were genuinely shocked that there is no sign of a nut or washer. So I guess they will need to order one in. I just need to wait it out now.
Thanks for all your help today, eased my mind as I wasn't a happy bunny this morning. Glad I found this place with some very kind folks knocking about.
Speaking of kind, a biker rode past me today when I was having problems turned around and took time to come and see how I was doing. Really decent of him I thought.

Dont know mate, mine has nothing at all
-
Oh right i assumed it happened today. Cant even find any on eBay. today sucks.
-
Im also puzzled as to where the nut is. I thought it would have just dropped in the cover but it wasnt there. I assume it must have been in place at some point.
I know when its fixed i iwll be tightening it every week without fail.
-
I have text the garage. Im worrried what else could be wrong now though. My worry is if i balls up the repair.
Need to have a proper look later when i've calmed down and not at work.
-
Ok thanks Stu, i'm not purposely trying to be dim, but its all new to me.
Also im pretty fed up only a week in.
-
Thanks all, would this also mean the clutch wouldn’t engage?
-
I can't see the pic but the front sprocket should not wobble!!!! tighten that thing up quick!!
edit - ok sorry just saw the link.... has... has the nut completely fallen off? should look like this

Yes there is no nut at all. That pic is exactly how it was when I took cover off.
-
Geez, ok so they come just come off? how easy is easy fix? The dealer is some miles away and not sure how long it would take. when they can pick up etc.
Thanks
Going to try and make my way back to work on the trusted 125!!

Also makes rattling noise from sprocket when I put it in gear, but there is no biting point when I release clutch.
-
So one week in and the bike broke down on way to work today. Has been fine then was doing around 30mph and lost all drive. Its can select a gear but when I let the clutch it just revs. Noise coming from front sprocket so opened the cover, (please see pic) it very wobbly and isn't sitting in the teeth/cog, almost as though I can pull it out. Could this be related?

I'm going to practice u turns now - thanks for the advice! Best of luck.
I practiced U-Turns a lot because I found them the hardest. I used to practice them daily on way home from work. Found a quiet car park near a sports field, found the test measurements (7.5 metres) and marked out the lines. Practiced over and over. All on a 125 admittedly but I know it helped. Passed MOD 1 and U-turn was no problem in the end. I just practiced over and over.
I did the same this past two weeks with right turns, hill starts and angled starts in preparation for my MOD 2. It was so worth it.

Ok, so this is like going out on the CG for the first time all over again. So slow, steady and stiff on the corners. Loving it so far though and the feeling when I twist the throttle. Love it.
-
Well done mate......just take it a bit easy on the FZ6 for a while until you get used to it......you can get into trouble pretty quick on one of those if you're not careful. .....
Heading out again in a bit. Going to take some getting used too.
-
Great news - well done! Enjoy the FZ6
Thanks. Will do. Crazy to think at the end of July I was considering buying a new 125 and staying on L-plates. What a mistake that would have been.
-
Nice one! Passed my MOD 2 aswell today, it makes for a great ride home.

The new is.........I Passed!!!!!!!!!
So happy right now. I was nervous as hell and was pretty sure I have screwed it when he mentioned my speed (twice). My speedo was reading 30, his was 25. So two minors for not progressing. This was early on so didn't really help with the nerves either!! The rest all a bit of a blur until in his office and he said I passed. I was so relieved, probably still hasn't sunk it. Got home about 4.30 straight on phone to insurance and I've already been out on the FZ6. It's sooooo fast - well compared to my CG it is anyway.
Overall I would have to say the MOD 1 was easier than MOD 2. I know others will disagree.
Thank you all so much for your help on my licence journey.
One question - am I a biker now??
-
Thank you for this. I have read and re-read many so times so far. Will try the 10 deep breaths trick.
-
Big day tomorrow!! 24 hours from now i will be leaving the test centre. Safe to say i'm nervous already (have been for a while) don't know what state i will be in tomorrow...
So, any last minute tips and hints to help me on my way unrestricted freedom tomorrow??
-
Understood. Thanks all.
More questions later today im sure!!

Also got pulled up on being hesitant because when I was pulling out of junctions etc. I was waiting for a gap big enough for both of us to pull away. Apparently that isn't really the done thing
Oh yeah don't let the examiner out too, less time he spends being able to see you the less he can fail you on
Ok, not sure if you are joking
I should just go when its clear for me yes? don't worry about the examiners position?

Good job.
When I took my CBT in May I honestly didn't feel ready to take to the roads but I did anyway. After that I knew I needed road time so got a cheap 125 to runaround on. Served as good experience for my DAS.
