  1. Make sure you have cleaned all the crud around the edges of the switch when you put it back together so you get a nice tight seal?
  2. Spent about £350 on my arai just to drop it after a few months However they did x-ray and check it over for free. Would happily spend £200 on a lid, but the one I want is £500
  3. Long stints on a 125! I would rather eat my own head Its a Honda so should be fine and teh cg are pretty bomb proof. Give it a fluid change, check the brakes and make sure its warmed up nicely before giving the beans - remember it is probably as old as you so will require a delicate touch
  4. Got a multimeter? If so I would check you are getting power to the switch first, then work back from there. If they were working before then it cant me anything major - probably moisture build up somewhere. Also how charged was the battery? If low then they might not work - did you try with the engine running?
  5. I wear either an oldish bench or nike hoody on colder days or my north face jacket if there are signs of wet!
  6. If the 'boss' allows it....
  7. "Prizes for worst photo shop award go to Techno and Frankie for their effort in destroying the art...."
  8. When you say 'stay over' does that mean dirty camping or a nice b&b?
  9. Ok so I know you can paint lids but you have to be careful about paints/primers reacting with finishes and affecting the strength blah blah blah BUT What about applying stickers/decals? Surely this would be pretty safe to do? I am looking into vinyl wrapping my lid... I like it, it fits, it is solid but it is scratched - a nice wrap would sort it out pretty cheaply and I think look quite cool. Opinions?
  10. Not fitting the kitchen as the builders not finished Anywho - still not going riding, going to the nec instead!
  11. Me and Jim are heading down to the NEC on Sunday morning - anyone else fancy tagging along?
  12. Damn bridgestones? Possibly the best tyre I have ever used - and the only brand I will purchase from now on! Sounds like a nice ride, but be careful braking on the corners - yes they are very forgiving but there is a very fine line between getting it right and wrong. If you are used to the idea that you can brake mid corner and regularly get into the habit of doing it you will slowly push harder and harder knowing you have that back-up - but one day you wont. (and yes I know it can happen anytime, blah blah blah) Also I have a 1000 - can I ride the arse of a 600, probably not but thats not why I bought it
  13. Me and jimsoon are going down this sunday
  14. Ah man I hate reading things! SO where would I find a specialist?
  15. Yep - tax your bike online, they automatically pick up wether it is insured/mot'd. Although sometimes it takes a day or 2 for the system to pick it up if you have just insured it. The tax disc will come through the post in a few days - but until it arrives you are FINE to ride the bike. I printed off the confirmation email just to be sure
  16. hmmm - its straight from the factory - would it all be on 0? I would count the twiddles and clicks of everything I did, I am slighty anal about things like that
  17. Been on the fence about adjusting my suspension but decided it has to be done The front is very spongy - dipping heavily even under light breaking, and the rear seems ok I suppose although it does drop a lot when I get on! SO is there a recomended method of adjusting it or do you just tweak things until it feels 'right'? On another forum a member with a similar bike who is of a similar size just said to click everything up 4 and that should be fine - is this worth a shot?
  18. I will be fitting a kitchen that day - so if the ride is cancelled you can come and hold some cupboards in place
  19. Buttertubs...
  20. I dropped my arai from waist height and then watched it roll down the hill for quite a few metres - thought it was scuppered as was covered in dents and scratches. Took it to the shop to buy a new one and they sent it away instead - came back all good with a cerificate to say so
  21. Its very easy to lockup on an emergency stop - to be honest I have done it quite a lot since passing... I also practice the swerve bit quite often - normally through roadwork cones Anywho good luck with the actual test
  22. Well you can only imagine the struggle he has re-doing his lovely locks of a wet ride.... Sorry I missed it but glad its going to be done again
  23. Sorry lads - but kind of glad I didnt make it in the end if the weather was that bad! Actually quite happy though as I really wanted to do it and so can next year Dave text me this morning saying the weather was crap - I looked out the window to blue skies and sunshine - text him back and he repplied. Just as his message landed the skies turned grey almost instantly and it pissed it down!
  24. There is your first mistake - that hammer is no way big enough
  25. The HG in preston has lids from £80 up - you cant get much better than that for a decent brand from a decent retailer
