I was given one with a Jetex engine with some fuel by a neighbour - it was immediately confiscated by my parents as I was only 6 yo and they called it a flying bomb - might still be in my Mum’s loft.

I once spent weeks building a balsa wood glider from a plan ( not a kit ) & found out I loved the smell of ‘Dope’, launched it untethered off the top of Beacon Hill South B’ham, it flew beautifully into the distance never to be seen again 😢, I was only 10 and gave up that hobby in disgust.

A shame really because disappearing into the distance is the ultimate accolade to your building skills .

The most anoying thing about Dan Dan the fireman is the he has a never ending supply of videos to talk through.

The idea of which brake to use is one of those things that doesn't get taught.  Even in my Mod1 I had a minor rear lock-up on the emergengy stop because no one told me how lightly to use it.  The harder I need to brake, the less weight I will have on the rear.  Now my rule is simple: I do not use the rear brake above 30MPH ... EVER!

I sold my GSXR 1100 at 43,000 miles with as much meat on the rear pads as the day it left the factory .

  3. It's a good job it's not retrospective although I expect that's on the cards in the next few decades . Having ridden near the back of a convoy of 30+ Harleys on a summer evening I can report that the fumes made me nauseous and caused my eyes to sting . Still a good laugh though .

My wife said 2 of them flew over Stroud today on their way to whatever air base they were going.

There are four of them in the UK at present . F**k knows what ordinance they have on board but they're ready for when the Ukraine kicks off .

Some empty lay-bys are more empty than others . This one hasn't got a bin , a porn cache or even a bottle of fermented Polish piss .

That's an interesting point 😂 don't think musk is to blame for years of neglect for environmental impact, unfortunately there is no alternative to get heavy loads up into space, his network of starlink aside if it were not musk doing it then it would be nasa or European space agency ir whoever was willing to tender for it.

He's pushed forward technology that nasa would still be thinking about.

Much as I enjoy science fiction and stargazing , I honestly believe that this is nothing more than a collosal vanity project , just as the Apollo Program was a vanity project in a nationalistic arena .  There is no way that humanity is ever going to migrate to " Another Earth " because the distances and the radiation make it impossible to survive the journey .

  7. So I have to give up my petrol powered bike and buy an electric vehicle that uses a battery made in a factory owned by this c**t who thinks it's ok to burn thousands of gallons of toxic chemicals just for his own amusement and profit ? He can stick his rockets and his little satellites up his arse .

  8. Sports Direct has Karrimor waterproof tops that make excellent motorcycle over jackets . I always take mine with me on touring holidays . They are also very effective at reducing wind chill when the temperature drops at night . https://www.sportsdirect.com/karrimor-sierra-weathertite-jacket-mens-442022?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=10653972640&cq_term=&cq_plac=&cq_net=g&cq_plt=gp&gclid=CjwKCAiA6Y2QBhAtEiwAGHybPWEmI68MvBTFsId7Nd8Vjw_H5qG9tCEnT1y4SXxZz8NMvS3ysIr_MhoC0xEQAvD_BwE#colcode=44202203

Does it work on council planning officers ?

    Just asking.

After a week or two of agonising pain , drastic weight loss and yellow eyeballs .... Yes .

  10. A very good point and one that I have raised myself in the past . Never leave coolant lying about unattended because it is deadly poisonous to dogs and cats and any other animals that happen to drink it . Apparently it is even quite paleatable .

I used slime in a pedal bike, never again! It completely failed to seal a small thorn puncture but totally gummed up the valve so it was impossible to reinflate the tyre.

I use Shwalbe Marathon tyres with an anti puncture Kevlar strip on my pushbike . I've literally ridden the tread of these things and I've never had a puncture . Highly recommended .

When I got a puncture last year, I did a repair with a regular bicycle kit.

It lasted for a couple of weeks until I was able to replace the tube, and the old one has been repaired properly now so I have a spare :thumb:

Exactly . I had to do the same with my 125 Benley .
