  1. If you have booked and are working towards getting your full license, you now have a ybr 125 you can happily pull to pieces and put back together in your own time, happy in the knowledge (when you get full license) you have another bike to get around on, that way you will learn plenty about bikes in general albeit on a smaller scale, you can have a go at fitting an engine and once done you can then sell on
  2. I have a 2011 and there is no kickstart on that
  3. Is it an EFI model? Mine does this when getting to the high end of revs before changing gear, when I change up the whine goes, the noise appears to be coming from the fuel tank area, so I have assumed it is somehow connected to the fuel pump in some way
  4. It does get easier, I also have a ybr 125 and until well about 2 days ago had no real experience with anything mechanical or engine related beyond filling the washer bottle on the car. So this weekend I replaced chain, sprockets, brakes, air filter and spark plug then repaired a hole in the exhaust and tbh it wasn't anywhere near as difficult as I thought it would be, so I made a couple of mistakes along the way such as putting the chain tensioner back on the wrong way which meant taking the wheel back off to sort it. as long as you follow what it says in the Haynes book, it should all be pretty easy
  5. Still no long term research to show the effects of ecigarettes or vaping over an extended period of time, most of the health benefits that are highlighted are due to cessation of smoking altogether with ecigarettes as a vehicle to achieve this. Have you tried heated tobacco as an alternative?
  6. ^^^ This, I'm just not Ginger (grey and receding instead) There is no real evidence as such that vaping is any less harmful than smoking tobacco, it has not been around long enough to do proper clinical trials on, plus as the majority of the vaping/ecigarette industry is owned by the tobacco industry there is not much chance of any proper clinical stuff taking place.
  7. Definitely looked like three short flashes to me, although the last 4 times or so that I have started it, it hasn't happened, maybe whatever it was has cleared itself
  8. So I recently dropped my bike was only a little drop I was still holding it when it hit the ground Now ever since I sometimes have an issue with the Engine light flashing when I start it, it seems to be three quick flashes and it dies, I turn it off back on try again and it will start. I think the three flashes relates to a tip over sensor, but I'm not entirely sure, therefore hoping someone could possibly help shed some light on this for me Thanks in advance
  9. Try Reps in Rogiet (although not quite Gwent) They have been recommended to me before and apparently are quite good

    IFTTT

I have also added the Xmas lights, just so that I can say "Alexa Turn Christmas On", this will then light tree and outside. Not gone down the harmony route yet, mainly as I have BT youview which barely works with itself let alone anything else and from what I have read, you are not yet able to change channels via Alexa with it, which for me would be the main point of it

    IFTTT

I have connected some energenie plug adaptors to the dot, so can turn a few lamps on and off with voice control, it does seem a bit gimmicky and I'm desperately trying to find useful applications for it, the wife on the other hand just thinks I'm a knobhead and should use the bloody switch like every other normal person

    IFTTT

Just simple things at the moment like, turning bits off or on, on my phone depending on my location. Have just got an amazon dot thing so going to look at turning lights on and off as I leave or get home

Have just started delving into the world of IFTTT, is anyone else using this stuff or looking into it?
  14. If they haven't been already because maybe they live on the moon or something, introduce them to the joy that is Dan TDM or Stampy Cat on youtube, the parents will be forever indebted to you and will treat you like a god always. You can also drop words like Roblox, PixelGun or FNAF (pronounced Fernaf, stands for five nights at freddies) into conversations with said kidlets and again you will be raised to god like status
  15. I'm all good then as bike starts and moves ok another sound to stick in the "that's normal, stop being precious" collection
  16. Its been like it since I got it, its not overly loud, I just wondered if they all do it. I'm still getting accustomed to all the sounds the bike likes to make depending on speed, temperature etc
  17. As far as I know its the original one
  18. is it normal to hear a whine from the fuel pump? when I'm pootling along I can hear mine, when I let off the gas it stops (as you would expect) but was just wondering if it was normal or not TIA
  19. Hi All, No problem I was just wondering about something....... Why does my bike sometimes sit at about 2.5k revs when I start it and then drop to about 1.5k after a few minutes, yet sometimes starts at 1.5k and stays there or sometimes drop to around 1k? TIA
  20. Any dog has the potential to be dangerous, some have a temperament that exaggerates that. Part of it is breeding and part of it is training/way they are treated etc I do think (and this is probably controversial) that certain breeds are in the main owned by people that could possibly be profiled and pigeon holed as a certain type. I am a dog owner, I have a Labrador, he is a big stupid soppy f**ker that lets the kids do anything they want to him, he will also not take food from them without being told he can, he likes a good cuddle and will often climb on me to get it. There is a clear pack hierarchy within the household and he knows he is not the leader of said pack, nor a contender (neither am I and he knows that too) but I am fully aware that he could do damage if he decided to do so.
  21. I've moved into telecoms, still within supply chain/logistics (I'm a forecaster/analyst), the majority of my experience is in retail (fmcg) but redundancy initially forced me into healthcare (orthopaedics) and a brief spell in another fmcg manufacturing environment (which was truly awful) before moving here, all of the roles have been along the same theme, the only difference has been the company and the people I have worked with/for and tbh they are the ones that make or break a place of work in my opinion. doesn't really matter what you do, but if you are doing it with/for a great set of people, you are likely to enjoy it!!
  22. I used to feel like that, so I changed industry, similar role just different things in the boxes. The two industries are a world apart even though I'm doing pretty much the same thing, the outlook and attitude of my seniors in my current role is just 'different' and it really makes a difference.

    Noisy YBR

that's where I am now!! took the bike to another more local proper bike mechanic who had a listen told me not tappets it's just a 125, took a look at the chain, adjusted it and sent me on my merry way. now know where I will be going to save me getting my hands dirty lol

    Noisy YBR

Took it to the bike shop, a kind chap there informed me it's 'tappets' and nothing to worry about just get them adjusted now my next question is, is this difficult to do?
