  15. Is it possible for you to go to a lesser used carpark or similar off-road stretch of tarmac and practice starting the bike, getting up to 10mph, coming to a full stop, moving off and getting up to 10mph, stopping etc etc.. ? I did this when I first passed my CBT and it helped me no end to get the feel of the bike without all the on road pressure.. I have to admit I tend to roll the throttle to start the power as I let the clutch go; so a ratio of the two wrist twists to exchange the power but without standing next to you, helping you move your hands it's difficult to transfer what I mean! I find it's all about feeling the bike but to get to the stage of being able to feel what's right, you need the built up experience of how the bikes feels! If you can get to a car park I would recommend just stopping and starting over and over till it starts to become reflex, not thought!
  16. Just to say first, we Allll have this Don't worry, we've all been there and we all still have 'off' days where it just doesn't come together like it should.. I know this sounds so typical but try to just relax; take a deep breath and tell yourself that it doesn't matter. Start the bike up again and get on your way Something that might be a factor is the clutch let. When I first picked up my Triumph I stalled it a few times until I adjusted where the clutch bites on the lever and now I don't have a problem with it! Talk to your instructor about the clutch biting point and maybe adjust it to where is more comfortable for you Good luck and hope things get better for you x
  17. Fozzie, I know you like a good debate, but on this thread.. Can you not? If you don't believe, that's fine! You are well an truly entitled to that view.. But this thread was members comparing their experiences and it was a friendly chat. If you don't have any experiences to share, just leave those who have to chat to one another without having to tell them that it's only a figment of their imagination. It's not a friendly thing to do and this thread was really friendly.. This wasn't a "Do you believe" thread.. Just leave it be..
  18. Sorry I couldn't make it guys.. Looked like a lovely ride out though Glad you all had a great time
  19. *Is being careful of this turning into a full debate* I don't believe that science as we know it at the moment is the complete picture. We are discovering new things every day that we thought impossible yesterday.. I mean, at one point there was no proof whatsoever that the world was anything but flat.. etc etc blah blah.. With this topic I go with the same thought I have on religion. We may think we're clever and all that, but we're not. Humans do not, at this moment, have the capacity to truly understand some of these concepts and are no where near having any kind of knowledge needed to explore such topics in depth; all we can do is guess with what 'facts' we have to hand. I'm with Joeman, even with recent discoveries, not 5 years ago we had no proof of them; doesn't mean they haven't always existed, just that humans were too undeveloped at that time to know any better.

    Rally Tshirts

Looking around £10-15 at the moment but I'm hoping if we can pull a bigger order together I can get that down. To save on postage etc I'll buy them and take them to the Rally and hand them out there.. I don't want to risk any getting lost in the post before the Rally!
