  1. Morning all! Now one thing I love about this forum is that we can have a decent debate about something but remain mates afterwards.. (Apart from Rant, who's a seething ball of fury! ) So, today on the news I hear about Colchester Dog Attack. What are peoples views on this sort of thing? Are there breeds that are more dangerous than others and if so do you think we have the Right breeds currently classified? Do you think bad dog behaviour is just in the upbringing and certain dog breeds are more often bought by certain people? Do you believe that having licences to get / own a dog would reduce incidents like this, or just increase "puppy farms"?
  2. I might have to say this for future use X! Great comparison I can't say I was about for the Japanese bike boom, so when people try to compare the two I've never been able to give examples for the debate

    I'm the 10,00th!

Pfft, I was more thinking you could run a query on the field that controls that figure!

    I'm the 10,00th!

Oi Stu, can you confirm this? Out of non-mods/admin/owner, who has the highest per day count?

    I'm the 10,00th!

Hah! This did make me bark with laughter Well done Phil! Don't worry, people used to post about getting to certain post counts too, I remember putting up a thread when I got to 1000 posts..
  6. Pretty much I know a lot of older boys in Engineering who get really irritated about it.. Some people I've met that have done degrees or in work training towards similar certificates are as useful as a chocolate fire-grate and there are some operators who have had no more training than GCSE or A-Level that could be brilliant given the chance..
  7. Aww man that sucks Like you I am way to trusting and could see myself making a similar mistake I'm with others CAB can be good for things like this, just be aware they are super busy most of the time so be concise and clear with your information, have it all ready to go. As Stu has said HMRC must be interested in the way he's running a business.. Also name and shame, tell the bike group you found out about him from that he's crap and let us know so people in your area don't waste their time also.. Have a good snuggle and hot chocolate to cheer yourself up, some people are just w**kers!
  8. Depends on your sector I guess.. My partner cannot get the higher jobs in Ecological consultancy without a Masters or maybe even PhD. I'm currently trying to shift from Automotive Engineering to Business Systems (ERP, SQL etc) and looking around, most places want you to have a degree or masters in the field before they'll even interview you. I've considered going back to graduate / apprentice wages just to make the shift.. Which is a shame because I know I could be good at if, it given the chance.. *Shrugs*
  9. For some daft reason I thought you meant a Spanish by-election! Ohhhh I hadn't heard about that at all That's awful...
  10. Not standing out of respect? What do you mean? I'm really interested in international politics but haven't heard about this at all..
  11. I know how this one feels, I'm going through a similar experience at the moment too. I do think that Fro has a point, it is possible to re-train while keeping a job going; it's just going to be difficult. The amount of people I know who keep saying things like "Oh I wish I had gone into X career when I was younger" and "Well I'm just too old to do it now" Don't let yourself be one of those people who regrets not taking the chance to change. My partner waited to go to uni until he was sure of what he wanted to do in life, he's now gone back to Uni to do a masters and I've said I'm happy to keep the house finances going while he's studying. Next year I'm looking into masters to change my path too You can make it work, just need to accept that life is difficult sometimes, but that's only so you can appreciate the good parts
  12. Look, we spent the time taking quality photos! It's only fair we're able to share them. Sam! Load the signing the register pic!

  20. Ohh Yay! Early planning I will sort out two tickets then when I next get money for Jay and I.. Had an awesome time this year I've already been working on karaoke songs Is it possible this year to have that private bar open for us? Not that it's difficult to walk down the hall to the main one, but we did tend to flood the pub and make the poor locals wait ages for a pint!
