1. I do completely agree with you, though I think extremely low of Farage, this wasn't the way to get your point across and is only going to rally the forces behind him.. The only thing I will add, is in recent years the murdered MP, Jo Cox, was attacked by a far-right activist. The recent murder attempt on another female MP was planned by a far-right activist. There have been many times where pork products have been hurled into places of worship and at people, by those who feel they shouldn't be allowed in this country. So trying to ask what's acceptable next, when referencing Jo Cox seems a little Naive to the growing feeling in this country that has been behind acts like the ones you mentioned for years. (Disclaimer: I am not saying that liberals shit don't stink. Just that in recent years, their crimes have not been as obvious or as many.)
2. I don't think I've ever avoided any social / news media like I have so far today One person in my office got up early so he could watch it and he keeps giving knowing grins whenever he passes...
3. This! You need to get it going first and some heat in the fire! it takes ages for the wood to dry out properly around a year! Look I'm all for big fires and big booms, but this sort of thing is more hassle than it's worth. In fact, recently Saddlebags did a massive cut back of our Garden (recently moved into a rental, where the garden had been left to go wild) and he's been throwing as much as he can into the green bin each week but also at the weekend bought: To which he hauled the main amount of it and took it to the local tip. No irritated neighbors, no fire burning for days on end, no fire department call outs, no burnt hole in the middle of the grass... If you don't have a car, just buy a mate a pack of beers for the afternoon. Don't get me wrong, I'm def a pyrohead, but this is more effort than it's worth

Hah, I think it's about the only downside to my name, people assuming I like that damned drink! I'd much rather a vodbull, fruit cider or tequila if people really want to go straight for the spirits. Even in my working life I'm Gin, though on CV and LinkedIn I tend to put Ginny just it's not such a shock for those who aren't used to unconventional names.

I like you much more after I met you Westbeef and realised what a sweet heart you are. I'm not a huge fan of the false macho bollocks that some lads have (which I had wrongly assumed from your user name). I genuinely thought you were a proper footy mad, Gym addict from your username until I first met you So I'm guessing you just like gin? Hah! Actually can't stand the stuff... Or more so I think I hate Tonic, but that's the drink everyone buys me when they first meet me! I'm a complete sweet tooth, so the dry bitterness of that drink is pretty Yack. (By association my best mate was called Tonic by a few people as they always saw us together. )

8. Those are the packtalk Oh sweet! Sorry thought you had the Gx9s.
9. Glad you're ok and worked the problem out quickly! Always horrifying when you get into a sticky situation and your bike doesn't respond as you expected it to. I had a friend once who was INSISTENT that he could change the tyre on his bike himself and didn't need a garage tyre machine. 6 hours and multiple trips to halfords later, with a shredded tyre and bashed up wheel hub, he relented in letting the garage do the change. It took them max 10 mins.
10. So I rode for about 8 years I think before my partner bought us a set of comms and I wouldn't go back to not having them now. Since then, we brought his brother a headset too, as he's my resident pillion, and he say's its made a massive difference to him. He's not getting half so bored on the back of the bike, he feels much more included in whats happening as he can hear us talking about everything going on around us and chat away back to us about random crap. We have the units that Stu linked and really like them. For Jays brother we bought the next set up and went for the PackTalks instead, which I think Jay and I will upgrade to as well in time. Hope this helps.
11. Have you got comms between the helmets?
12. This did make me bark with laughter; have a few creative friends who have this look. I saw someone sum it up as "The characters used to drive the plot, now the plot drives the characters." Good article Hoggs, sums it up well.
13. Most of lads I knew that wanted to do an A2 then "limit" it, only did enough to have the paper to say it was limited, then took it off again. So they could ride a bike that's power exceeded their license but if the coppers pulled them over they could claim it was limited.
14. Arwen You summed up my thoughts pretty well. Also learningtofly, I am really happy to hear that there are people that are loving this series. I am genuinely glad that there are people that can see this final season as the closing statement that the show deserved and I'm gutted to not be one of them. Agree here too, and as I said before the writers done f**ked up. Now, I could fully understand Dany cracking if:
15. Ok so just to start by saying I think this was the worst episode yet; not because of the special effects or the acting. Effectively I have the same feeling that I did coming out of Batman vs Superman. The actors in it played the roles they were given amazingly well; it's just a shame those roles were so badly written. Yes, Hounds end was pretty perfect as his goal has always been to kill his brother at any cost. I think he knew it would likely end with him losing his life and that's what made his final moment with Arya so perfect; getting her to realise that there's more to life than revenge. I hope this is how she goes back to Gendry. The hound helps her realise the horrible truth of war and she finds that actually, having someone who is always there for you is pretty wonderful. Also Kyburns death was Brilliant! To be fair, the prophecy stated that she would be killed by her younger brother and she was the first born of the twins. Just cos he died at the same time doesn't mean that he wasn't linked in with her death. (Prophecies are fucks like that... ) Also, I completely get his character going back to be with her, even in death HOWEVER if that was the way the writers were going, I really wish they hadn't shoehorned in the Brienne romance. In the books he slowly realises he's actually repulsed by the person Cersei has become and starts to realise that Briene holds all the same values he does (while also finding that somehow he gets a boner round her!) This half house, he abandons her after such a huge char arch, was shite. Basically agree. I think in the books, with GRRM writing it will make horrible, inevitable sense that Dany cracks (if he chooses that ending). It will be like being washed down river by the strong current. You won't want it to happen but you realise that it's just the way it was always meant to be and it will Make Sense in the context of the world. However, this version of it has been BUTCHERED. It was like being hit by a tsunami in the middle of a desert. Varys death was f**king awful, her threatening Tyrion, Jon.... UGH just Jons cardboard personality especially this episode was so bad. Basically the writers have well and truly f**ked this one up, I would assume mainly because without GRRM writing the books or being on set to advise (which he hasn't been for the last two series) the writers have floundered. I am Dreading the Star Wars trilogy that these two have been given to write and direct.
16. Arwens pretty much summed it up. You could look at altered seats but that's changing the ride a lot for both of you for something she might not enjoy. Having a go on another bike is a good way for her to see better while also experiencing other ride types. But in all honesty, doing a CBT is a great idea. It's a one day experience course, if she doesn't like it she never has to ride again but she might love it! I'm 5ft3 and take pillions happily, but it does look pretty silly. My seat is naturally built to give pillions a good view, but most of my pillions are taller than me anyway! I also am grateful that I've always taken pillions since my 125cc as it's definitely a very different way of riding for someone short like me. These days I normally have my partners brother on the back of mine and he's just under 6ft I think. He can see Clear over my head and loves it; gets all the perks of being on a bike without having to learn to ride himself
17. I love you Joe... But comments being offensive or not depending on a defining characteristic of the person their aimed at is Kind of the definition of prejudice. I get your comment about we should all aim to be equal where these comments have no effect anymore. But we're not there at the moment and so they Do still have meaning. I am going to assume he was making a light hearted joke and all was well meaning. However, I agree with Bender, he must have been having a proper mind-fart to not think through the connotations. The tabloids loved commenting on her heritage and background when they were first together / married. Of COURSE there was going to be sensitivity about the issue when they had their first child. Basically I think that he didn't mean it with any harm, but he's been sacked from the BBC twice before. This wasn't the sackable offense in it's own right but I reckon it may have been the straw the broke the camels back for his bosses. You know what Six, I actually agree with you! They should all be thrown out of politics and not allowed to run for political positions again. Corbyns decimated the Labour party with Diane Abbot as his willing henchman and Farage is a con-artist who just wants his cushy MEP job back now that he's at risk of losing his income for doing f**k all.
18. You do know it's not real and just CGI ....
19. Yeah, really good comparison! Even with the main long running shows they take breaks of have a filler story line. It's so weird that the writers seem to just want to get the show over with now... I know that GRRM stepped back from consulting / assisted writing on the show a while back now and I'm sure that's what we're all feeling now. Just that Lack of what made GoT so different to any other fantasy show out there. If I thought he was likely to bring out the next book (or two...) any time soon then I'd just think "Pfft, fine, the series is struggling, but we'll still get to know the proper tale one day" but honestly I wouldn't bet against him dying before the damn things are finished. Though.... I also hope he doesn't do what JKR did at the end of the HP series and just rush the final book, tying together random plot points just to get it over with.
20. Advice from a mate who's a copper is to call the non-emergency number (101), give the licence plate number, time and place and a little detail and it will get logged against the vehicle. As MB has said, this will be used in future interactions with this vehicle and they might do an insurance / tax check. Most of the times if someones a dick driver, it's not a one time event and if the police get one call about a car and then see that same car out and about, they have more reason to keep and eye on them until they f**k up. Also, don't try and punch wing mirrors off, or at least not on the posher cars. Had a mate who practically smashed his fist to pieces trying it Also, if that car then choose to chase you down, it's far less harm to that driver to smack your bike off the road than it's going to be for you.
21. Massive fan of the books and also have then as Audiobooks (happy to share to anyone who want's them). I know the feeling you're talking about well! I think when something like that happens in the books, you're bloody gutted but you get the feeling that it was fair somehow. GRRM always writes with events happening for a reason, there's always a lead up (however subtle) and consequences to actions (even if they manage to avoid them). This writing though actually leaves me with a much worse feeling because it's just hollow... - When Bran got chucked from the tower, you knew it was because he'd extended his luck one too many times, but Not because he himself failed as a climber. - When Arya got smacked upside the head and was stopped from reuniting with her family after such a long lead up, you think it's because the hound wants to protect his own hide from being killed, then you find out he just wanted to save her from herself. - When Ygritte was shot and Jon had to find her bleeding to death, you knew they both had to end up against one another. - Even when Jon was killed, you could feel the tension in the NW building for a good book before it happened. Though GRRM surprises the reader, it's still always plausible. Eurons cloaked fleet which seems to warp around the coast of the 7 kingdoms to defeat any ships Dany tries to attack with. As I've mentioned already, the apparent perfect aim with those Balista, except when they need Drogon to survive for reasons. This writing isn't clever, it isn't subtle, it's doesn't feel like a natural evolving world like GRRMs does. This sums it up well, the transition from the source material and when GRRM was still on set giving advice, to now where the writers of the show have free reign. They've reduced complex characters to one or two base emotions to make it clear where the story needs to go. Also, like the theory about Ghost, I know I couldn't say good bye to a pet I loved and a final cuddle would make it far harder. The final thing I don't get is that GoT is HUGE money. I don't get why they're feeling the need to rush this last season out and be done with it. They could have easily had this whole season be about the battle with the Night King and his army, building up the tension for one more season which goes back to Kings Landing and Cersie etc. Some people may have felt that was dragging it out for the money, but I think it would have been far better than this rushed ending. Sorry for the looong rant. Just so gutted that a franchise I like this much is dropping in quality, when it was known for it's awesome story writing.

Road kill

This is a thread I should not have started to read through I am now happier in my choice to have both mine as 90% house cats with roam of the back garden in good weather.
23. I did miss this at the time but saw after on Reddit I genuinely thought it was a dream sequence because it was So sudden, So out of place and So unfeasible! It wasn't even that it was a surprise to the audience. Neds death was a surprise but at least there'd had been a narrative before hand which put it into context. This was just: - War meeting before they march out. - Conversation of this potentially being a bad idea for various reasons. - Ships on the ocean (so apparently they left? How's the other army doing? No travel time or context?) - Dragons in the sky and oh look there's ruddy great bolts pelting at them! It was so... Empty. It was like they warped to Kings Landing. I felt like I'd fallen asleep and seriously missed something. This isn't even wondering how the F they managed to not only find Missande in the ocean (She's barely had contact with the Kings Landing folk, how the hell did they know who to fish out of the sea?) but then capture her while deciding to leave the rest of her army to wash up on the shore? Then why bother the whole Hostage BS with how that ended. Come on Cersei you have Dany and her whole force (like 100 men) standing outside your gates, just mow them down! Why do the dramatics with Missande? Also you have all these Balistas made but decide in that moment of mercy not to take out the last dragon while you have Dany and her forces decimated at your feet? It just felt like the writers know how they want the character arcs to end, they know how they want the story to wrap up but can't work out how to actually get it to happen organically and so just bash it with a mallet till it takes shape. Also, are you kidding me that we didn't get to see Arya and Sansas reaction to Jons parentage! Last note. He didn't say good bye to Ghost. No pets, nothing. The Monster That damned wolf lost an ear for you!
