Heads up everyone I am planning next years calendars, and during the course of this year I will asking members if I can borrow their bikes for shoots with a specific theme. This will possibly run alongside the forum's Readers Rides or could well be a separate entity available from myself, I will discuss this with Stu at some point.

When I get sorted I will post the relevant thread for those who maybe interested.

    Cheers everyone :thumb:

Why not also offer that if a member wishes to send in 12/13 pics of their bike to have a personal calendar made rather than 11 months of other peoples bikes ?

  2. Regardless of where you live it is part of the highway code which reading and understanding  is part of your test procedure (and if you ignore that information then who's fault is it ?)  that if there is single carriageway/dual carriageway and  street lighting and no further signage then it is a 30mph limit .

Legal definition of street lighting not requiring additional signage  is

a 30 mph speed limit applies where there are three or more lamps throwing light on the carriageway and placed not more than 183 metres (200ft) apart.

So if you see any street lighting treat  it as 30mph .... unless you see a sign otherwise

I am hoping the YouTube video I've found telling me how to replace the hard drive in my laptop with a SSD work. Usually YouTube videos are a great way to learn new tricks.

Only if the person hosting thevideo knows what they are doing and not doing a rehash of what they learnt from a you tube video / bloke down pub .

Do any London riders happen to know whether the rules for whether bikes are allowed to use bus lanes in London depend only on borough? i.e. if I tell you the borough you can tell me YES or NO?  Or is it more complicated than that, and some borough contains both types of bus lane?

I know how to read the blue signs (which are at times obscured by tree foliage). But it would be handy to know which the offending boroughs are where I might get a fine... then when nowhere near these boroughs I can ride easy and confidently use any bus lane even if I didn't catch the sign 30 yards back!

  6. If you believe you need to get your knee down to get round a corner you have a long way to go to learn ,and i would concentrate more on road cornering than race cornering  to build confidence .

Burnham bends are great and knee down is not required to navigate and have fun

    Good morning :thumb:

I started a new but old job on Monday for a company I used to work for 12 years ago.

It's always good to make a good impression and leave on good terms, because you never know when you might need it:thumb:

Similar for me but it is this coming monday and only 6 years and yep as soon as manager heard it was me returning they were willing to fit in around my needs ...

I am going to measure the garage width and the bike length to see if a centre stand dolly would work. It would be handy to be able to ride into the garage and turn the bike to ride back out. I have noticed a car usually parks outside the next door lock-up, so its bonnet partially blocks mine, which is not a major issue, since there is space for a bike to pass.

But if it stops the door opening not good

  9. Enfield locks  in each corner

Ask if you can change the door as those shown are easily bent .

They only lock top and bottom but are easily levered from the side and bent outwards

Ashvale in hampshire had a spate of garage theft with those doors .
