How Much Power Does the 2022 Kawasaki KLX300SM Make?
Gerontious replied to Admin's topic in Motorbike news
Thanks for that. I have to admit that this question has been keeping me up all night for weeks, which is handy as I work nights. But that’s not the point. I’ve been fretting about this for so long now I almost had at least one night where the levels of angst about the power these bikes produce made me crave those heady times when life was carefree and this KLX did not exist. And that. -

You don’t need a receipt. -

Then you should have demanded a refund. I have a Goretex jacket that is almost 10 years old. If it leaks you can bet I’ll be getting a refund!! -

I have a hold-all made from Cordura so it must be good. (Obviously) it’s very old tech that was great at the time. But a £50-£70 motorcycle jacket. Seriously? Take off all the extra costs involved in getting it from China to your hands and you’re buying a £12 garment to trust your skin to. -
What they have done is illegal in various other eu countries, but we can rely on the tories to refuse to legislate against this kind of behaviour.

Who knows. It looks like the talks via the Turks are going well. However he is making some demands that might be difficult for the Ukraine to accept. The permanent loss of Crimea and the breakaway Dombas region. And I wouldn’t put it past him to try to hold on to as much of the Black Sea coast he’s already grabbed as possible. Obviously if he could make Ukraine a landlocked country surrounded on 3 sides by Russia and its allies that would be a massive win.

Exciting for ‘Blade owners, Shirley.

I doubt much of it is going into his war chest, the vast majority of this money is going into his and his chums pockets. You don’t become the wealthiest man on the planet by spending on arms and munitions. You do it by robbing from the economy and spending on your mates in the hope they won’t turn against you.

Get Adventure-Ready With Denali’s DialDim Lighting Controller
Gerontious replied to Admin's topic in Motorbike news
That’s not my bike. (I have the 1000) but I can get a plug and play kit from rugged roads, and that allows for the lights, when in use, to show up on the instruments. When I can justify the cost I’ll go for that. It’s a little over £300 on my bike I can have full power when on full beam. 50% on dip or off. I would need this gadget if I wanted more versatility. I’ll have a think about it later in the year. Loan for the bike will be paid off by the end of the summer. -

I was quite taken by the way they worked on your bike, I dont ride much (if at all) at night so extra lights aren't a priority. Though I have been thinking about a pair of DRLs, maybe the smaller S4 variant. rather than the much larger D4s which are overkill for my type of riding. -
Get Adventure-Ready With Denali’s DialDim Lighting Controller
Gerontious replied to Admin's topic in Motorbike news
Its just a variation on what has been sold in this and other countries for years, with added control rather than on/off and various preset levels of brightness. as well as a few other clever little additions, like the lights will strobe when you use the horn. or when you want to. I remember that @Bungleaio had that feature on his bike last year. Its TUV approved so the Germans are fine with it and as with any auxiliary lights the MOT dont care. -
There are options available for those with a short inside leg after the test is passed. For instance the Honda Rebel 500 has a 25” seat height which will decrease somewhat with your weight upon it. Many other bikes have lowering options, often quite affordable ones. Your first goal is to find a bike school that can provide a bike to suit your needs and then perhaps ask about a try-out/taster day, which many offer. And then take it from there.

I’m not convinced that any Chinese made bike that is not being manufactured to the standards demanded by the big four or larger European manufacturers is a “good buy”. And. To be honest a £1600 differential is not much over the term of a loan whether that’s over 3 years or 5. Where you can guarantee that you will have zero problems with getting the bike serviced. Warranty claims being dealt with. Recalls being notified. Easy access to parts and especially accessories. And there is no gamble on trade-in or private sale values. I get so tired of the constant line from owners of these bikes trying to resolve a problem and then the wholly inadequate answers we are forced to provide. Because usually there are no easy answers readily available or someone we can point the owner towards and have confidence that the problem will be resolved quickly and painlessly. look again at the Honda or whatever big brand sells an appropriate alternative and think very carefully. Very carefully.

I imagine world leaders and their armed forces top brass are watching the Russian invasion in slack jawed amazement at the incompetence shown thus far. And my bet is the Russian military top brass aren’t best pleased either and at the end of the day, they are the only ones who can remove Putin. Unless an assassin can get close enough, which doesn’t seem likely. I think the most likely scenario is for the Russian military top brass to turn on him. (Hopefully)

I need to cheer myself up. A bag of popcorn and settle down to watch something cheerful from 1984. Threads. Perfect. There’s nothing like watching mass panic in Sheffield as a mushroom cloud appears in the distance. Or a cat writhing in agony as it burns. Lovely. fun times ahead.

That’s how it’s always been.

Ive been offered a 12/24 month fixed plan, and have until the end of this month to make a decision. I currently pay £48 and this will rise to £79 for both plans. If I do nothing then it will become variable starting at £43. but that will rise when the new price cap comes into force. I'll probably go for the fix.

I don't know anything about android, only item I have that runs that is my sat nav. what you describe is absolutely normal. When you buy a new iPad or anything like that and you already have an apple device it will ask you if you want to set it up using the same iCloud account. so that the items you use on your old device, things like contacts. browser shortcuts. bookmarks. messages. email and so on are shared between the devices, so if you then pick up your new iPad, it will be mostly identical to your old one. When I bought my first iPhone it did exactly the same and items I use a lot on my Mac were shared. It will ask you exactly what you do or do not want to share. and this has to be agreed with on both devices. This is so, if I normally use a Mac at home and want to travel with an iPad, everything I need that is on that Mac is accessible from the iPad. (everything I allow - that is) Or, if I trade in my old phone for a new one... within a few minutes the new phone is set up exactly like the old one was... with all my important stuff in the correct place or available if I need it. if I said no. or clicked cancel none of this will happen. If I then set up the new device with its own iCloud account it will be ignored by my other devices, just like my workmates iPhone is at work. When I arrive at work my iPhone doesn't ask me if I want to share with a nearby device. her phone. It's ignored. If you set up a new device with its own unique iCloud account it will be ignored by your other devices just as if they belong to your next door neighbour or some random stranger you might pass in the street. There cannot be any data leakage under these circumstances.

What details?

I’m not sure what you mean. The point of iCloud is to share your data across all devices that are signed into the same iCloud account. So you can view (for instance) photos taken on your iPhone phone on your Mac without physically transferring the photos over. If you have two iCloud accounts. One for personal use on your iPhone and Mac, for instance. And another account for work that is only used on your iPad, then this becomes impossible unless or until you sign out of your personal account and into your business account on your iPhone. (Or Mac) and then it depends on your settings what is available. You might have confidential, highly sensitive data on your iPad as well as photos that aren’t important. You can make those photos available to your other devices while the more sensitive documents can only be seen by your ipad. And no one and nothing else. If there is any leakage then that is because you’ve allowed it.

Which is a bit daft as the president is Jewish. it’s pure transference. Putin is taking lessons from Hitler. Ukraine is the modern equivalent of the Sudetenland, for his goals. Take a bite, no reaction. Take a bigger bite. Then swallow it whole. Then move on to the next target. And repeat.

Yes. It’ll be fine.
