  1. Worst; Diversion 600,dull Best; RGV250, 2 stroke noise and powerband, handling,light as a feather,looks, 90s GP rep
  2. Went to a retail park in Northampton this morning for some stationery, next door to the shop is a Smyths toy store and outside there was a truck half full of cozy coupe kiddys cars being loaded onto a car transporter. WTF.
  3. National motorcycle museum, near the NEC. Triumph factory tour Hinckley. Long itch diner,Long itchington.
  4. Buy cheap, buy twice. It might seem you get good value but you will potentially have higher running costs, reduced reliability and poor residuals. My daughter had a YBR for a while and lost next to no money on it.
  5. My Dad turns 80 next week, he received a letter from the government advising him his state pension will be going up...........by 25pence a week What a friggin insult and waste of time.
  6. I chose my Samsung galaxy A3 for its size, just a bit bigger than a packet of ciggies.
  7. Started work on the brackets today, cut two of the sheets and bent into place. Got to bite the bullet and cut up the new CB exhausts next. My spokes finally arrived in stock yesterday, as promised the dealer contacted me to say they were in. Don't you just love good customer service.
  8. So did about 15 miles on the RGV, went to Halfords and bought a new tyre pressure gauge, then onto Idle Torque at Cotesbach. It's a small Indy clothing store more aimed at hipster type clothing than what I wear but I think its important to support these smaller shops.Bought a small beanie hat from him. Then onto Screwfix for some drill bits for the Honda exhaust. RGV ran a treat, getting a bit more comfortable opening it up after the engine rebuild.
  9. We've been watching Bosch on prime.
  10. I'm a big fan of 2 strokes, I have two; RGV 250 & GT380. Properly looked after with good quality oil and warmed up before riding them can be a pleasure to own, nothing else sounds, performs or smells like them and guarantee to draw attention wherever you go. However, I would hesitate in recommending one for a 50 mile commute, as been said they can be thirsty if flogged, quality oil is around £10 a litre and they are only one beat away from a seizure or crank failure if not set up correctly.Make sure your left hand covers the clutch and you have quick reactions Is there any reason why you want 2 smoke?
  11. Welcome. Good luck with the resto, getting close to the end of a 6 month restoration on my SS125, see thread in this section Hope this link helps with part nos., your local Suzuki dealer should be able to sort. https://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gsx750f-2000-y_model13717/partslist/FIG32.html#.XGR98xKnw1I Got two old Suzukis myself,RGV250 & GT380
  12. Six sheets of stainless arrived today to make the exhaust hangers. Each sheet is 0.7mm so thin enough to bend but weld 3 of them together should make a strong enough bracket.
  13. How do you actually manage to ride the RGV and not just leaving it ticking over and breathing in the 2 stroke goodness . I do run it up every couple of weeks to get my fix of 2 stroke heaven.
  14. Yep hopefully get out on Saturday, was just after Xmas I was out. Just need to decide which bike to take out, think maybe the RGV,haven't ridden that since October
  15. Something to consider but I'd imagine a CL exhaust would be tricky to source. Be nice to have the option of two versions of it though
  16. Number plate fitted this morning. Started making exhaust brackets, the old ones are not the right shape and badly rusted anyway. The shape they need to be is a bit too complicated to form in the 1.5mm thick plate so I thought I'd have a go with thinner sheets and weld 3 pieces together, Used a spare piece of Cavalier rear arch repair panel as a template, will get some stainless sheet for the real thing.
  17. How dare they've ridicule the M45, its a fine piece of tarmac especially the bit between Kilsby and Barby, slight downhill and straight for about 2 miles. I definitely didn't see 145 (mph or kph can't remember) in my V6 Cavalier;terrifying I must admit Don't know about the CB at all but do know my old 600 Diversion would run out of puff when I got above 80 or so.Most of the time it was adequate but I did find myself with the throttle wide open and nowt in reserve on occasion when overtaking. That's why I went to a litre bike, for safety... Run out at 80 how many pies did you eat, the original had a half decent standing 1/4 for size of it and top speed well over a 110 It was a memorable occasion overtaking a Honda S2000 that did it, went to go by him about 70 and he accelerated, I was on the wrong side of the road with the divvy pinned and only just scraped by seeing 3 figures when I finally passed him. It was a half decent bike otherwise. I bought the FZR thou soon after and celebrated by eating a couple more pies,
  18. Looks nice, the yellow and black colour scheme really stands out. I've never named any of my bikes, but if I did the RGV would be "The money pit" & the 380 would be "Sadiqs nightmare"
  19. Oh, and welcome

  21. Fairy liquid £2.31 per litre https://groceries.asda.com/product/washing-up-liquid/fairy-original-washing-up-liquid/910001262760 Halfords own brand car shampoo £2 per litre https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/shampoo-polish-wax/halfords-car-wash-5-litre If saving money is the name of the game, its a no brainer I've always followed the urban myth that your car wipers and screen rubber will rot before your eyes if you use fairy liquid. What I do know is my OH would slap my hands for daring to enter the kitchen cupboards for stuff to clean the cars or bikes. I use G-Techniq products we got through work and when that runs out turtle wax or whatever's on offer at Halfords
  22. No I just laid the whole new exhaust on top of the fabricated downpipe, the CB downpipe is way too long so the plan is to cut the silencer off and sleeve the two together. Know what you mean on the seamed type, not pretty. Got my new plate today, looks the biz KV is a Coventry area code,.
  23. CB exhausts arrived today, offered one up to the bike, looks like they will work and not too dissimilar to the original style. Fitted new screws to the rear light lens and ordered a black and silver number plate.
  24. Bikersworld used to charge £20 to fit a tyre they didn't supply. Do yours sums to work out the best option, don't assume anywhere will fit it FOC.
  25. Haha, yes temptation did get the better of me. Ran it the other week with open ports, just popped and farted not very loud at all. Started yesterday with the downpipes and it was f-in loud Yes both pipes need a slight adjustment, will have to cut and shut from the stub out the head and mate up to the silencers, about 4 degrees on RH,9 degrees on LH My man who made them says they can't be put back in the bending machine now they are all welded up
