  1. awww whaaat I was looking forward to thrashing you we will have to arrange another one, when you can actually get time off
  2. Just watched the videos, best lap was a 1:52 Did loads of 1:54s and quite a few 1:53s so I'm pretty pleased with that considering my previous best was 1:56 trying to upload some of the clips now but youtube is being a tw*t..
  3. Well... what an eventful day! Got to the track in the morning, not that many people there so they got us in 2 groups (novice/inters and inters/fast) with 30 min sessions, which was good. Went for the novice/inters group in the first session and although I overtook loads of people, the bike felt quite slow especially below 9K RPM, and it sounded a bit different as well. Got back in the paddock after the first session and got a few other guys to have a listen to it and explained that it felt a bit slower than I remembered it - most people said it sounds like it is not running on all 4 cylinders (which meant nothing to me at the time but I understand it now lol). So, loaded the bike back up on the trailer and headed for Louth Bikes... they confirmed one of the cylinders was not running and replaced the coil but that didnt fix it so they had to take the tank and air box etc off and replace the spark plug, which did fix it Got them to replace the other 3 spark plugs while they had it all apart as well. So headed back to the track at about 12 and when I got there I found I had only actually missed one session because our group had a serious incident (the guy had to be helicoptered off to hospital apparently) and they cancelled that session, so they had dinner early which meant I was just in time to start on the afternoon sessions Did the first afternoon session and the bike felt like a rocket now that it was actually working properly haha couldnt stop grinning for the first few laps. Found I was overtaking almost everyone in the novice/inters group and getting held up a lot so I asked to be moved up into the inters/fast group for the next few sessions, which meant I went straight back out after coming in from the novice/inters session didnt see another bike for the whole session though! Pretty much the same for the next one as well, caught up with one guy only for him to pull back into the paddock on the next lap, and a couple of guys flew past me and were gone in seconds. Oh and I went for some on the grass action again haha round park corner went in a bit too hot and had nowhere to go but the grass - or it might have been the one where I got my knee down ( ) and wasnt expecting it so sh*t myself and sat upright half way through the bend... not sure til I watch the video back. Anyway I kept it upright and carried on, I'll put the video up on youtube (along with some other clips) once ive found it and watched it So yeah, overall a good day, though I was getting a bit frustrated on the last couple of sessions as I was trying to go faster round the corners but just bottling it.... oh but I did manage to go round coppice without braking, you'd have been proud Phil
  4. thanks guys, as long as I'm feeling happy with the changes to the bike I'm going to try and push it a bit more than normal (dont think I will be getting anywhere near 1:50 though Phil!) so hopefully I'll have some good videos to post when I get back... crash videos are good videos right?
  5. Yay only 1 more hour of work, a 1 hour ride home on the CBR, then its off to prepare for the track day hope the weather perks up a bit for tomorrow though, been really grey and miserable here all day today.
  6. Just watched the Moto 2 race on BBC iPlayer (mainly cos its the only race you can actually watch for free...) and yeah it was pretty good, a lot of extremely close passes and good riding all round. Will certainly try to follow it throughout the season, think they said the next race is in 2 weeks time so I'll have to try remember to watch that one as well
  7. I dont get it, everything has to be the same even down to the fuel but then they are allowed different frames (and presumably other parts of the bike) ? I thought the idea of locking them all down to the same thing was to make it so that its rider skill that wins and not a better bike setup but if they are still allowed to change other parts of the bike then doesnt that defeat the point? excuse my ignorance
  8. yep haha my next track day is only in 4 days time and that seems like ages right now!
  9. hey deso, long time no see. You got another bike yet? As for these new rules, I think they sound quite good. If they make it more interesting to watch then its fine by me, of course I might not be saying that if I was one of the people actually racing but I'm not... think I'll have to do a few more track days before that
  10. Just asked for the days off work so hopefully should be able to book these soon
  11. Hmm ok well PhilGale explained to me that I need to measure the diameter of the inside ring in the clip ons (ie the size of the forks) so I did that - it was 43mm but that is not an option for those Harris clip ons - they start at 50mm, and so do pretty much all of the other clip ons I can find EDIT: Oh actually I found these ones which start at 41mm http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products/000 ... st&sd=DESC So I'm guessing I can just get those in the 43mm size right?
  12. My track bike (2000 Yamaha R6) has some really chunky clip on bars and I want to get some new ones - someone recommended these: http://www.intobikes.co.uk/products/000 ... uf&sd=DESC but my problem is that I dont know which size I need to get, or if it even matters. The sizes range from 50mm to 54mm but I have no idea what that is even a measurement of... Anyone got any idea how I can find out which size I need for my bike? Thanks Chris
  13. Well I spoke to the police again today and it looks like the garage were telling the truth and the police did just turn up and take some bikes, seats, and a few other bits. Bit surprised that the police wouldn't even attempt to contact the owners of these items they took, but after the large amount of time and effort it took me to actually get through to the right people at the police it doesnt surprise me that they are not that organised...
  14. and what a nice pass it was too looks like not that many people came past you either... so when you starting racing
  15. haha loving the little mistake near the end of the first vid looks like a good track - looks so wide compared to Cadwell though, I think I would feel lost! Dont give me that rubbish, you said your bike could keep up with a 1000cc bike
  16. Spoke to No Limits today just to ask if there was still loads of room left on this so that I can leave booking it until next month and they said yeah that wont be a problem at all, so I'll book it once I've been paid on the 28th
  17. Same here! You get your pay rise once the videos are up
  18. hey copo, glad to hear you had a good time as well Didnt realise you were on this forum as well (is it cos TDR has been down for the last week )
  19. Oh yeah I forgot about that, have to check my bank account and see... I need to buy a trailer soon and just spent nearly £400 on the track bike as it is! I know lol but like I said in the other thread if there are some on at Cadwell that are fairly cheap then why not eh.
  20. Tempted but I dont think I can get the time off work, I'll check though
  21. Monday 10th May Cadwell Park £99.00 Tuesday 11th May Cadwell Park £99.00 Both being run by NO LIMITS. Anyone thinking of going to either (or both) of these?
