  1. That's interesting, which manufacturer is that picture from bob? Just out of interest.. I have a TRX850 with a brake system full of gunge and I'm not sure if the previous owner of the master cylinder ran it on DOT5 or if the clear goop that comes with Brembo rebuild kits is the culprit. Either way, it has clogged up the little return hole a treat.. The lever is solid in warm weather and I can't seem to clear it out
  2. Only 40 miles from work (Hinckley) and straight down the old Fosse.. Is it a big do? i.e. worth travelling for?
  3. I would go for hammering the socket on, the act of hammering can loosen the nuts and the socket will be a nice tight fit thanks to all the rust. The hard part then is getting the nut out of the socket.. I usually put a drift in there and whack it on the floor a lot, probably gaining a minor injury somewhere in the process.
  4. Some alarms go off if you start tampering with the battery, disconnecting and reconnecting it, so.. Be ready for that with ear plugs or something.
  5. So, did anyone go? What was it like?
  6. AKA "hero blobs", most bikes have them and it is indeed a warning device that you're either about to grind something more expensive, run off the edge of a tyre or have an exciting time pivoting the bike on a foot peg at speed if they're solidly mounted. I hardly ever get near them
  7. If it's high mileage then there is a possibility of the fingers of the clutch basket having notches in them. Something to check for if you end up going in there
  8. Been out for a lovely run tonight, not a lot of people out there for some reason?? It's like going out on Christmas day, only warm. Bloody great.
  9. It is a posh area, I think there are probably lots of enlightened people around there already..
  10. The road that goes along the side of Mountsorrel quarry (starting from Quorn) is one of my most favouritest roads anywhere, at least when there isn't a car in front doing 30.. Also just yesterday I chased a CB450 Black Bomber through the Quorn area, myself on the CBX250RS. That was cool.
  11. Don't worry about that, you can update Garmins with Open Street Map. I can still keep my double-ancient BMW Navigator II up to date with that! TomToms are different though, the way maps are built for those is a trade secret so they really can become obsolete at TomTom's whim.
  12. Currently cannot get enough of Picture, a lot of the Diamond Dreamer album is fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82OoshBVuwA
  13. Allens can be expensive, there is a chance you might find Honda bagged items for less. This is the jet you want, as you can see the last four digits specify the size of the jet. NRP are good for bits too.
  14. Is the exhaust actually bolted to the head? Is there a gasket in there??
  15. And so I went, nice day out on the CBX. I got there about 2:30PM, it was obviously thinning out but I guess I expected Daventry town centre to be bigger than it is! Lots of stalls selling stuff, not that many bikes though a lot of what was there was quite interesting and a live music stage where the band couldn't play due to feedback issues which really made me appreciate the work that must go into the Rugby event. Overall I guess it was alright, bit of a trek for such a small show though. The best bit for me was bumping into a guy I know from a forum long since passed and seeing that he's still knocking about on weird customised bikes
  16. Looks like a bit of a low budget version!
  17. Anyone know how this compares to Rugby Bikefest?
  18. Ahh a good day had by all, although there were a lot of people turning bright pink by the end! More pop-oriented bands this year though, preferred the more metallic sound of last year personally. Never mind, still great entertainment and all for free.
  19. I'm aiming for 12-ish too, can't be doing with the ride in thing it just looks tedious.
  20. Bump, happening this Sunday. Weather might be good. Interest piqued.
  21. But really where are the pics, c'mon man..
  22. Well you've had plenty of practice with us lot over the years Fingers crossed for you
  23. This is often the internal pipe in the exhaust header having broken free from the outer, and is now rattling around inside. I don't know if a Divvy 900 is built like that though, or if it is an aftermarket system it almost certainly will be just the one pipe.
  24. The friction plates do look worn down but what does a new one look like? And is it just the angle that the photo was taken from?
  25. Paice Ashton Lord - Malice In Wonderland. This is what half of Deep Purple (and a bunch of early Whitesnake!) got up to in 1976. It's nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiQx0FlX4yc
