  1. Its more time consuming than actual work If your happy taking cams out and re-timing them (after) then you have nothing to worry about and will get on fine All you need to do is measure the gap between cam lobe and bucket with feeler gauges on all cylinders ....get a pen and paper ....go away and work out which shims you can swap for others to make up the right distances Then buy the right shims to replace (I bet its less than 4) The actual shims are SERIOUSLY tough and dont wear as easy as people think I Always write down shims sizes per bucket number and location Before I start changing them.........If you stuff up...simple go back to where you started
  2. What Sort of Bike Mechanic dosnt do shims??????
  3. I used to ride to school on a Honda C90 at 15 year old illegally...like this one http://images.mcn.bauercdn.com/PageFiles/547989/0-1.jpg Then when I hit 16 I got my first and only ever new bike a Suzuki TS50ER like this one http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/gallery/suzuki/1982-suzuki-ts50er-1-865x570.jpg I Must Have Looked ridiculous on them @ 6 foot
  4. I would expect to see them at Army training sites but in a public road?
  5. Never seen the explosives one Ever!
  6. Your Welcome and scratch the "gromet bit" I see yours dosnt have those bits
  7. You can buy connectors on ebay but you "May" have to trim the rubber gromet a little with a razor blade to get them to fix snugly But as long as the old ones click into place you should be ok If they are still a little loose or your not happy with the conection what you need to do is VERY slightly bend the pins....and I mean Slightly! That will force the metal together making a tighter connection
  8. We all know some Range Rover drivers take no notice of pavements right?............Ive seen them mount the pavement and "make" their own lanes on many many occasions ...red lights dont exist etc etc So wasnt a surprise to see one had cut a corner at a junction and was pearched on top of a Black Cast Iron "pavement" Bollard She had apparently tried to bully a small car that refused to move over for her ...........Thats called %*@"* Justice!!
  9. I assume your Coil packs click into a harness like mine? make sure you hear (or feel) a "click" when you push them into the harness (wiring side) plug Ive had the little inner rubber seals stopping them seating properly before
  10. Just a Thought ........You said new spark plugs This is gonna sound incredible but did you buy them from Ebay? Because Ebay is flooded with counterfeit spark plugs believe it or not, I was conned from a reputable seller and sent fake plugs the year before last!! They worked ok for about 100 miles then went down hill fast Just google fake spark plugs
  11. Then I Would check what @Tankbag said as next step
  12. Could be Also Check your tank breather hose isnt blocked/kinked.......open tank filler and listen for Air pressure difference.......there shouldnt be any
  13. Since you "Fixed split hose" I would Go back a step and re-check it When Diagnosing a problem always go back a step to what you did last Could have simply popped off
  14. Is its a Carb Or Fuel Injection model? Sounds Obvious but lift the tank and look for Fuel line leak

@Joeman Ive heard the BMW S1000RR does it as stock to a certain extent..(but obviously not loudly)...did yours before you fitted your Akro's?

    Identify this

You know how some bikes sort of make a backfire sound when revs roll off "a popping noise" Its supposed to stop that........I dont have it but some do (dependant on after market end cans) Some love it others see it as a fault (which it isnt) Blueflames would be the same thing.......hot exhaust gasses having more Air added makes it do it.....and marble mod stops the air being put into the pipes Its just a personal preference Although I have had Blueflames out of my "Evo Blueflame" end cans The last thing Im doing is looking in the mirror to see if it does it at high revs EDIT: Same As Stu says

    Identify this

On a Hayabusa you can blank it off with "The Marble Mod" A split will probably make the bike noisy ...Do you have an unexplained ticking?

  20. At least you drained the oil first! As I said In another thread I helped a biker who hadnt drained oil just added to it so engine was Very Ill And that wasnt a 125 rider he had a ZX10R!!
  21. If you follow this guide You cant go wrong "> The bad reviews of the Sealy tool are written by mostly idiots who dont prepare the pin properly Tool is MORE than capable as long as you use it the way it was meant to work
  22. Your Welcome Can you post results when you find them? I may be wrong but I think an early gen 1 ZZR1400 mod was to remove them? It would Make sense if your idle "could" get a bit funky?
  23. I've not had to deal with a -C28 error before because my bike Model dosnt have one So unfortunately I can't draw on my experience of it I Am wondering though, How is the bike running? Is it using more fuel? Sorry I cant help more
  24. I changed my sprockets and chain last month used DID Gold X-ring Chain & JT sprockets DID is excellent quality and JT is used by some jap bikes as standard they are steel and also great quality I did the work myself using a Sealey-VS779 for £27.98 on Ebay Good point to note:- if your happy with your gearing stick to stock size sprockets or if you want more power but lower MPG go bigger on the back And/Or smaller on the front.............however Your a commuter so i would say stock
