Ok I may feel brave enough to give it a go next week can you damage the thing running it badly adjusted ? You run the risk of bending the valves if they are too far out Not done any for a long time but I recall something about the cylinder needing to be top dead center (TDC)

Don't forget to lean in the corners!!! The missus doesn't drive, so that's not going to happen...............at least it won't on the way there or back

Side stand cos I ain't got a center one My last bike had both Depended where I was parking on which one I used Center stand is not as stable as the side stand in certain situations Center stand for levelish ground and the side stand for angled ground generally

Make sure you know and trust your pillion or at the very least they are experienced pillion riders Something to make you laugh and cringe Many many years ago when I were a wee lad with a GP100 (my first bike) I had two incidents with pillions. One amusing the other not so amusing. Amusing I was an apprentice carpenter at college giving regular pillion rides to one of my mates He is a tall lad standing at over 6foot 4inches back then Anyway, at the junction and pulled away on my not very powerful steed I didnt realise he had stood up so wasn't (due to his height) actually sat on the seat I left him stood in the middle of the road Not so amusing Giving a pillion to a different (work) aquaintance on the same bike and the fooker jumped off mid lean on a roundabout because he thought we werent going to make it That was the end of his lift to work.

Just to confirm The plan is to bring my bike up on a trailer as the wife doesn't drive and wont go pillion I'm gonna make sure its large enough to take another bike or two in case anyone from darn sarf (ish) runs into strife on the way up or back Ben..........If your going, I can carry ya gear for you. Speak nearer the time Rae...............I take it you no longer want a lift as your going pillion with DP. Check what he means by "one way or another"

Don't bother Just take it easy for a bit I had Michy 2CT Powers fitted. Granted I did slide a bit when I first applied the brake. It didn't actually take that long to scrub em in and as long as your careful you'll be fine
