Re-coat your waterproofs
Jixerman replied to satnavsatnav's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I was told if you dampen the material first, then spray the waterproofer on, the material drying out helps to draw the spray in giving better results Never had to do it myself yet as my textiles don't leak -
Or.............. I was parked behind this Ferrari when my bike lurched forward...............

Motosafe Earplugs
Jixerman replied to ManInASuitcase's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Using these at the moment Wearability They are comfy I find they get dislodged easily if you don't push them in far enough and are a bugger to get out if you over do it Noise Reduction Depends how much noise you expect or want an ear plug to cut out really I immediately swapped the coloured inserts for the yellow ones as the green ones didn't cut enough sound out for me The CB I have is a LOT quieter than the gixxer I had, so I'm not sure how they would have stood up to the gixxer -
Eventful journey home Sue. Ended up in Shrewsbury. Don't ask me how O_o Chucked the missus off the bike AGAIN!!! in Kidderminster. Some moron on the roundabout by MacDonalds changed his mind and didn't want the turning he was indicating to use and swung his wheels to continue on round. I grabbed a handful of brake and went to put my left foot down. Trouble was it was straight onto a the biggest manhole cover in the world. The ones with the two triangular plates. My foot slipped, off we tumbled and Karen bashed her ribs on the kerb. We are now waiting to see if they are bruised or broken. Doc says if the pain eases over the next couple of days they are bruised, but if they are broke it will get a whole lot worse

Boots bought Sat the moaning bitch missus down and made her try everything they had that fitted her, even the ones she she didn't like the look of She settled on some waterproof Alpinestars SMX 5's As soon as she put them on I got the look of approval I needed some new boots as well as my old ones leaked like a seive Not wanting to be outdone or do the tweedle dum and tweedle dee thing I tried a few of the others on making extra special effort to avoid the ones the missus chose Ended up with the same though as I found them snug and very comfy All kitted out now ready for the soash at Ian and Sues next weekend

Great Thanks all for the input and for the link I couldn't find linky when I was searching, so got fed up and reinvented the wheel Figuratively speaking of course Off out in a bit to see what we can find

I am going to be buying some boots for the missus and I've noticed is recent years more and more ladies boots becoming available On a practical level, fashion/styling aside, does it really matter? Obviously women have smaller feets (in most cases O_o) so is it just about the length of the foot?

Anyone like to meet? Get this section warmed!

Based on the weather perhaps not such a good idea then -
Never used main dealers I've tried this in the past with my cars and always found them horrendously expensive so had no reason to suspect they are any different for bikes I've tried a few places that only offer service and repairs services and ended up with a one man band for my bike (Marc Patterson) I've ended up with Marc because he is the only one I've felt completely confident in and totally at ease when he has my bike (very rare to find someone like this) The others I've tried were probably OK TBH, but for me if I get even slightly suspicious about them, that's it, I won't go back When I move the search will be on for someone local as I don't fancy the one hour ride I may even have to consider getting my tool kit up together and doing it myself, but its been a while since I've done any mechanics
