1. Ah well in this country sedation is rarely used for dental work and theres usually a dental nurse in attendance so doubt you need to worry.
2. That's what happened with me they couldn't numb tooth, 2nd attempt I was also sedated which is really weird as I know you're not knocked out but have no memory of it. Anyway dentist referred me to hospital as I apparently swung for him when he tried to take it out as it wasn't numbed Yep the sedation used casues short term memory loss. Its usually midazalam. One of the reasons more than one dentist has ended up being secretly filmed molesting patients! On the plus side when its used for ‘twilight surgery’ (youre awake but only half awake) you dont remember the sounds of ‘orrible things like your bones being sawed through or any crunching noises
3. Or a penguin
4. Frankly I’m disappointed I’ve got places to move up to. Who’s number one?
5. Six30 normally I just ignore your childish machinations but I am curious to know if you keep a count of the number of people you have provoked with ‘light hearted banter’ to leave or give up on the forum? Do you have a compendium of favourite flounces? What was the worse (or best depending on your point of view) one you’ve managed to stoke the fires of?
6. This could have all been averted with a cup of tea and a nice nice biscuit.......... If you mean a nice Nice biscuit, I haven't had one of those for years! I did, typing in haste because I have a hefty workload today and I’m on here wasting precious time!

8. 2012 is that a record for not noticing the date?
9. I have a Mutt. Rode it on Monday, as it emerged from its duvet clad slumber I was realised I’d forgotten what a nice looking bike it is. Easy to ride and learn on. Rode it all through last winter with no problems, still looks like new. As with all Chinese bikes it’s the electrics that are considered dodgy (never had a problem myself). It’s worth dabbing some grease on anything that looks exposed and a good coating of ACF50 will keep it looking good- that goes for herald and mash as they have similar build quality. Mutt were nice to deal with, very helpful. Switched the nobblies to road tyres (still with a great old school tread pattern) and when I asked for a longer front mudguard they made one for me quickly, colour matched it and posted it for £100.
10. I was avoiding commenting on the injury because if you lost the whole nail and it may well include the nail bed so.... it’ll heal well but.... you may not have a nail on that finger wait n see. Dont worry yourself about infection it would have bled profusely (fingers are good at that) and any germs are washed from the wound by this action, handy ay? Too early for jokes?! But just in case on the infection front- Infection is more likely to be acquired after the injury so just make sure you keep it clean and follow any instructions you’ve been given. Keeping a hand wound clean is a pig, think of how many times you’ve put a plaster on your hand to get it dirty or sopping wet minutes later, this you want to avoid so get yourself on amazon, get some disposable gloves and put one on EVERYTIME your going to do something that will get the dressing wet or dirty. Washing will be fun if your not hairy a bit of tape round the top of the glove (or even a sandwich bag) will help keep unclean water out. Don’t leave the glove or waterproofing on for any length of time, making it sweat won’t help with healing. The gloves below are good but remember the glove has to accommodate your bandaged (and swollen/sensitive) finger so get a much bigger size. Use a plastic bag in the mean time. If they’re not available in your size on this link just type ‘bodyguard gloves’ in and lots will appear. You can buy a finger sheath but most of them are waterproof which equals sweaty so I’d avoid. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004TLG3O8/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
11. Meant to mention Held do other gloves in short and long, not just the ones in the link
12. Motorcycle gloves are definitely a pain in the wotnot to buy. My hands are average but I have tried out so many motorcycle gloves that just didn’t fit. The guy at helmet city said gloves were the hardest item to get a good fit on. Good luck.
13. ps glad you’re ok apart from a manky nail!
14. Lots of people have fingers longer or shorter than average so your not alone. Held make gloves in short, average and long. Not cheap but what price comfort?! https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/110726
15. I’ve seen some footage (possibly on here) of black shoe polish reviving black plastic to look like new. Might be worth a go.
16. Ask them for compensation https://www.gov.uk/claim-compensation-injury-road-pavement Maybe request the accident stats or have a look here https://www.crashmap.co.uk If it’s known for causing accidents they’re obliged to do something.
17. I have always lived down single track roads. Now it’s a short single track but for years it was a lane over a mile long. The single track road I’m now on is used by a few as a cut through, must save them about 20 seconds compared to the main road that goes to the same destination and it never ceases to amaze me how many people cannot reverse a car. I don’t even wait for them to try now, even if they’re right next to a passing point (there’s only two) I’ll reverse half the length of the road because it’s much faster than waiting for Mr or Mrs Wobbly to hedge their car. The thing that irks me is there’s a perfectly decent alternative wide main road so if you can’t reverse don’t drive down it! Here’s a nob of a couple of years ago- The person was right next to the passing point but wouldn’t reverse (I couldn’t either because unusually I had two vehicles behind me) he sat there waving his arms gesticulating we should all go back (this would have been a long distance to reverse) so we sat there and sat there and.... sat there.. They became irate, I don’t know what they were shouting but they were puce by now. Eventually I get out of the car and say “you going to have to go back, it’s not far, it’s just behind you there” From the response you would have thought I’d suggested he should lop off a limb. I said “Look that tractor and trailer behind me there can’t reverse, it’s not safe, he won’t be able to see what’s behind him.” His response was absurd “You all need to go back, I’m not f*cking going back you stupid f*cking woman” At this point I nearly lost it, I was contemplating punching him and imagining how satisfying it would be, whatever the consequences were I was thinking it would be worth it just to see his expression. It was the top of my driveway he needed to reverse into so I was so close at yet so far from getting home. Fortunately my more reasoned side decided as fun as getting into a slanging match would be, it would be faster to bring his anger down a few notches and get him to reverse. To cut to the chase I ended up having to reverse his car for him. I was readying a few choice words to give him at the end but by this point he’d fallen apart and was apologising! So I found myself in mummy mode scolding him for his language and behaviour whilst also telling him everything would be alright! Haven’t seen him since, I think he uses the main road now! Nob.
