1. Rear brake applies front break too. Front brake only applies front brake.
2. Ian there anything you can do to remove all the faff between wanting to go out and getting out? The more chances to have to back out the easier it is to do so.
3. I has a suspicion that the sump bolt was the wrong size so I ordered a new one. It arrived after fastbob had left but is definitely shorter than the one in my bike. Maybe one day i’ll Swap them.
4. Update: Fastbob has been and gone. Top chap, showed me how to do it, talked me through some wear and tear things on the bike like Sprocket teeth and also helped me tighten my chain. I was not being too much an idiot, the sump bolt is the one that hits the exhaust. We changed the oil by letting it drop out of where the filter is, on the side stand. I’ve learned loads. Very great full and to everyone here.
5. I simultaneously hope it is easy and obvious but hope I don’t look a nicompoop.
6. I won’t. I managed to get it off the other day without further rounding with mole grips. I’m not going near any of it until you get here Well apart from taking off the fairing in the morning.
7. Cannot buy a replacement from CMPO for the filler cap either. They are sold out. Not surprised if they all come out rounded off.
8. Thank you fastbob pm sent
9. Do I risk it, think of this as a learning opportunity and go for it, carefully moving the exhaust or in case I have it all wrong do I pay the mechanic person to do an oil change and watch?
10. Not been changed. It is a new Chinese made bike. Starting to understand some of the criticism now. I think the bike is based on a Honda and in the images of that bike I can see the exhaust does not run up the middle of the bike. I cannot see anywhere else that could be sumo plug. It has a little seal on it and everything. I suspect it is poor design. But it could be more of me being a muppet.
11. Unless I am supposed to drain it through the fuel filter thimble hole then I think I have the right bolt. It is at the lowest point of the engine. Problem is I think I need to at least loosen the exhaust to get it off. I might ring the bike garage down the road and see if I can watch them change my oil. Then I can do next time.
12. A small drip. Not really. The thread and the bolt are oily but it wasn’t running down the bolt.
13. Answer is mike grips. I am pressing on... Scratch that. Tried to undo what I think is the sump plug and it is blocked by the exhaust. As far as I can undo it it hits the exhaust before being removable. Help.
14. Yup bolt head type part is soft and rounded. At this point I am stumped and don’t know what to do.
15. If so the bolt head bit is soft as anything and alread a bit rounded. I don’t have my sockets at the moment. Not sure what to do? I haven’t let the oil out yet fortunately.
16. So I think this is where I put new oil?
17. fastbob Thank you very much. All my looking did not help me find those images. They look really helpful. I’ll feed back in a bit, I am going to try today.
18. I found a video on YouTube which I think shows me how to do it. It looks like filler bolt is up and at the back of the engine in a nuisance spot. I’ll check out the parts diagram to find out what the part is with a wire.
19. I guess that would make sense but would that be on the filler hole?
20. It’s for the lexmoto falcon. Thanks for looking. That cap sits on the oil fliter thimble thing I think. I will photograph the bike later but there is not something obviously oil in your drawn on pic. There is something with a wire attached there. I will get back to you.
