How odd that so many people are so opposed to improvements in rider training and the consequent improvement in safety. With 1 in 10 currently dead or seriously injured within the first year of passing their test, something clearly had to be done, but as usual that "something" gets dismissed as unnecessary meddling. If my second son decides to ride he'll have to pass the new tests. At least he'll now have a better chance of surviving long enough to pass them... "Bring back the good old days... So long as the pitch is the same you should be fine. If it's that worn you might want to check the sprocket too.

Have you tried adjusting it? You really should stick to the correct size and pitch. All sorts of problems await you if you get it wrong.

Maybe. Are you sure the "rumours" were not just yet another consultation? I seem to recall that they originally said that the offroad stuff was going back on road around October when they were intending to dumb it all down again to MCN level. So who knows...

They won't ever make it harder! All the MCN lot that passed their test years ago would whine to much... again. And we all know it's far more important to please them than it ever would be to improve the standard of training in order to reduce the KSI stats.
