  1. Yup just don't rev the car too much, there was a thread a while ago discussing this, outcome was yes as long as it's not a massive battery like on a van I believe. After that I'd check sparks and fuel flow from tank then the carbs. Though this is just the process I went through when I had a similar problem after all the cold weather. I then tried jumping off a housemate car after I'd done all the above and found it was the battery as first suggested lol
  2. I'd first try jumping it off another car or bike if you can to save twitting with spark plugs, it's a quick and easy way to test if it's the battery. Failing that yeah, start with spark plugs.
  3. Seriously?? That's rediculous Gin!! Hope they get it sorted quicker than that Really want to go out for a ride today, lovely weather but no one around me to go out with and getting bored of 'Ridin solo' lol So F*ck it!!
  4. Could do with more informatoin on what the bike is actually doing, is it turning over at all? Are you sure the battery is still in good condition? I left mine on charge for two days after the cold weather but still made no difference, had to replace it but only cost £35 so not that bad.
  5. I'm off for a ride out this afternoon, sometime before 1700 Not sure where to but I'll be leaving from loughborough Let me know if you want to meet up, mobile is in the contacts or reply to this, will check back regularly until I leave.

  7. havent got a tent either lol if i pass my test by then and have a decent bike that goes over 50mph i will come lol I have a two man tent, would be nice and cosey

  10. Buy a laptop bag and add a couple of peices of kevlar for armour?
  11. A good cause and I'd like to attend but working. Will try and swap a shift but not hopeful. EDIT: miss read the dates, rota hasn't been done for that week yet, will request it off and see what happens
  12. Think so, though you've missed out on a weeks worth of points, just go to the mcn fantasy page and see if it will let you join
  13. Congrats!! Though bit of a pain having to wait now.
  14. That sounds like a pretty good idea. The protection in textiles is usually just a bit of armour in a sown in pocket. So if you make a little pocket in your jeans you should be able to get some armour which you can put in and have pretty good protection.
  15. Massive mate, we didn't even take up a third last year!
  16. Haha sounds like a fun ride out. Though guess it's lesson learn? Check the scale on the map! lol Just got in myself not long ago, it's bloody dark and oncoming headlights blinded me most of the way! Not so fun! Though still enjoyed the ride overall.
  17. 41 Defininates and 24 Maybies with four and half months still to go! Looks like this is going to be a pretty decent rally!
  18. Yeah the Americans just butch the english languaged...though considering the quality of some English people's English, it's not much worse lol
  19. If it was the wrong side he would have said pints... Though yeah, spell check: litre
  20. Could possibly be in clothing but works just as well here Thanks for the heads up Rod
  21. Full leathers all spring, summer & autumn if you're too hot then you're not going fast enough Do you're leathers have much in the way of ventilation? That can make a big difference.

    Which engine oil??

Only use the type of oil suggested in the manual, usually 10W-40, any other will reduce the life of the engine and probably damage it. Make sure it's motorbike oil as well as it has different addatives to car oil. As said semi-synthetic is also best. The brand is personal preforance but any major brand will do (unless you're on a really tight budget). Personally I prefer Shell's
  23. I have same size tyre on my GSX600F, (except that's my front not rear) it's not a perticually common size any more, but I find ebay is generally one of the best places, try googling '110 80 17' without the quotes Though doubt you'll get one cheaper than that, that is very cheap, however cheaper isn't better when it comes to tyres imo
  24. why ? Because it's 40 miles in the opposite direction to where I live lol Though if I go ahead with my plan go camping in scotland then this could be a great start to the trip
