  1. Is it still only available on BT Sport? I'm pretty sure last season I saw some highlight races but cannot remember which channel the highlights were on, maybe channel 5? Might be a good opportunity to claim my three free months of BT Sport from EE if that's still a thing! Especially now the F1 is only being shown on Sky
  2. My MOD2 is on the 12th April so with any luck I will be done before then. Good luck for the 13th and you bud, lets hope for some decent weather!
  3. I’ve got to wait until the 13th to start my DAS. Can’t come quick enough haha
  4. Thanks again alll. Booked in for MOD1 & mod2 in April so will be glued to YouTube watching training videos until then
  5. Thanks for the advice so far, really useful. I think I’ve got it in my head that as soon as the roads are wet riding a bike is going to be like riding on ice haha! I believe it was yeah, the guy full on braked and just stacked it in a split second of putting the brakes on, I’ll be sure to be progressive should it rain though!
  6. Hey all, I thought I would start a thread for people to share their experiences of training / riding best practices in the wet! (Sorry if it’s been covered, I couldn’t see anything though) Be booking my DAS soon. Likely to be done in april so I am anticipating the rain to fall at some point. I just wanted to see if anyone has any pointers (I know instructors will no doubt give advice on the day and so on) such as cornering techniques and especially some of the MOD1 tests such as avoidance and emergency stop, having looked on YouTube it doesn’t fill me with confidence, the first video I watched someone came right off and slid down the road trying to do emergency stop Is there any leeway given by examiners in the rain compared to if it was a dry day when doing MOD1? So yeah, any pointers which might help me / anyone else that will be doing training soon would be much appreciated
  7. I can't go for a ride out, but considering all the nice places the north east always seems to be a bit dead for bikes. Are there many ride outs in summer? Hopefully if I pass my DAS in a couple months i'll be up for some rideouts this summer, parents moved to Filey last year so at least i've got a stop over if i want a run out to Whitby for some grub . So long as i can deal with the motorway blast from Leicester to Howden before the decent roads start
  8. Neither did I, but it's 2.5 metres, measured from the bike's rear wheel spindle. Do I win a prize ? You might win a prize if that question ever comes up in a pub quiz
  9. I did my Theory test on Friday, just brush up on your useless facts. I had one question which was ‘what is the maximum length a motorcycle trailer can be?’ which I had no idea about, and then some pretty random questions about road signs. The rest of the questions were pretty easy, luckily none about stopping distances at 50mph etc.. just ones about how much gap to leave in the wet and what to do if you see a fuel spillage and so on. The hazard perception was what I was worrying about as I always clicked too early when I did practice ones, so I usually just clicked when I first see the hazard then wait half a second, click again. Worked for me as I passed both. All in all, the actual test seemed a lot easier than the online practice resources which is good! Good luck bud, hopefully you’ll smash it
  10. Looks like you picked a good weekend for it, surprisingly decent weather for January! Maybe you’ll have another member joining next year if I pass my DAS when I actually book it
  11. I sold my focus ST on gumtree. Did have it on eBay and had no interest. As with most places like gumtree you just have to bite you’re tongue when the wasters want to swap it for a laptop or mountain bike. Personally I’ve never looked on auto trader or MCN for a bike, I just look on eBay and Gumtree. Gumtree is free to list so be silly not to stick it on and give it a go
