  1. I’m about to finish my DAS course. Two days full training, then MOD1, half days training then MOD2. Think I have paid £540ish including test fees, I did get 20% off though. Full price is was about £620 I think
  2. Not bad for a free bike! Good read so far. Will look great when it’s all done and clean!
  3. I’m currently doing my DAS course and have been riding the Kawasaki Z650 on it for the last couple of days. It’s a nice bike, at 70mph on the dual carriageways the wind blast is pretty hefty. I went in wanting a naked bike but after 5 minutes doing 70mph on an open dual carriageway I’m reconsidering as I can’t imagine I’ll have much fun if I want to go up the m1 to Yorkshire to visit parents etc... Fairly low amount of power, it’s still really fast to me as I’m not used to it fully but you can pretty much pin it in second and the front won’t lift which makes me think it’s actually probably really underpowered. I’m still looking at Naked bikes, but also now considering something with fairing so it’s bearable on motorways and open NSL roads
  4. Might aswell add my experience in here now! So I did my CBT last August, haven’t ridden since so booked in a DAS course with training all day Saturday and Sunday, then MOD1 this morning & MOD2 a week on Wednesday. So arrived nice and early this morning to the training school at 7am, had a quick practice of figure of 8’s and u turns then it was a 10 or so mile ride to the test centre. Arrived there, stood around whilst the other person was doing their MOD1. Finally my time came, remembered to do my Checks as I pulled off to head into the test area. Our test centre does tests in both directions so this time it was a left hand circuit. Luckily we had use of the area yesterday to practice going round both ways. Done everything I needed to. Making sure he ALWAYS saw me doing my shoulder checks before pulling off. Test came to an end, went into the shelter to be told I have PASSED! 0 rider faults too. Very happy with that. Now got to wait 9 days until MOD2. It really helped me to think it was just like yesterday’s practice exercise, and I could look back at my instructor before pulling off to make sure I remembered my checks. 50kph on avoidance and 52kph on emergency stop so pretty bang on with the required speeds!
  5. Looks like a good turnout considering there wasn’t much chatter on the Facebook event page for it. I completely forgot about it until I got a notification saying starting in 1 hour. I’m on holiday for next months but hoping to be at the June one, might even have a bike then if I pass my tests this month
  6. Tickets bought Bought Sunday tickets along with Paddock Passes
  7. They aren’t on the Oliver’s mount site for some reason, tickets are here - https://www.dukevideo.com/prdOMGC/Olivers-Mount-Gold-Cup-2019-Ticket Thanks for the update, I'm all booked in got weekend camping Will be ordering mine this week but just Sunday. Will be paying on Credit Card though after all the horror stories of no one getting refunds last year
  8. I keep looking in website , no events listed for 2019 They aren’t on the Oliver’s mount site for some reason, tickets are here - https://www.dukevideo.com/prdOMGC/Olivers-Mount-Gold-Cup-2019-Ticket
  9. Going to book the gold cup when I get paid. Any one know which day is best to go? I was going to book Sunday tickets but not sure if Saturday is better and there’s no info on the website about a race programme
  10. I’d say that’s cheap. I’ve been getting quotes for when I pass my MOD1&MOD2 and am getting quoted nearly £1000 for SV650’s and Er6N’s. At that price I don’t know if I’ll even bother
  11. Foods decent too! Lovely place to chill on a summer evening.
  12. Looks like there will be a monthly bike night held at Stony Cove. Hosted by J&S. first one is Weds 10th Apr, then 8th may, 12th June. Facebook event here - https://www.facebook.com/events/1267629840041639/?event_time_id=1267629860041637?ti=ia
  13. Will be hoping to go this year, lucky for me my parents live 5 minutes away from there
  14. I never knew he was in to bikes either until I saw some people talking abut how approachable and nice he was at trackdays on PH biker banter forum. Absolutely gutted about his passing. Saw them when they did the warriors festival at Milton Keynes bowl, absolutely amazing and hands down the best show I have ever seen. Keith had such a prescence on stage. Gutted I missed the chance to see them a couple times after that but glad I have the memories of seeing them live.
  15. Well just got back from a few days in London. Couldn’t figure out the tube map at the station, turns out it didn’t have all the stations on it, luckily a local actually helped us so +1 point to London! Then we went to TGI Fridays, they put us on a tiny table under a spotlight that was boiling us to death so before we ordered we requested to move tables, which they refused to do for us even though there was a million tables. Ended up getting up and leaving whilst making a scene -10 points to London. Luckily Wagamama’s were great and saved the night. Overall most people were nice, the only people we got annoyed with were French or from another European country, they just stop dead in their tracks in front of you or completely block paths. Also the moped riders around there are mental.
  16. I am off to London tomorrow for a couple of days so I will try and come back with a second opinion last time I went I don’t think we spoke to a single person apart from the people who took our food orders!
  17. I’m from Leicester(shire). However I am not around on a Sunday and haven’t passed my test yet Should hopefully be around in May though if all goes to plan! Let me know if you find any decent riding routes!
  18. Yeah I entered their comp too. Gives them an excuse to email me daily lol. Hopefully there will be some reviews going live soon. Hoping they do live up to the hype as they seem quite a nice bit of kit
  19. Been bombarded with their ads on social media the last few weeks. They do a lot of snowboarding helmets which seem to get a lot of praise and last night they launched their bike helmets. Got some quite funky looking designs and not too bad a price point, has anyone else seen them / decided to buy one? Lack of reviews on them is a bit off-putting for now but they do look quite tempting. Not sure if we can link to them but here’s a link just in case - https://www.ruroc.com/en/44-atlas-helmets
  20. Will have to take a look in summer. Want to go try out Caffeine & Machine too so could do a little idle Torque to caffeine & machine ride out That's sounds like an excellent plan. Not heard of caffeine machine before, website looks very interesting They always seem to attract a good range of cars and bikes so definitely worth a weekend ride out

  22. Just checked their website. I knew i recognised the name, didn't realise it was the place just off the a426! Will have to check it out in the summer seeing as I am only 5 minutes away. Maybe just for a coffee though, not sure their gear is my kind of style. Potentially make a good meeting point for some summer ride-outs?
  23. I’m in the same boat as you. Not passed yet but already looking for what I want. Can’t decide whether to get an older SV650, or a couple year old er6n or be slightly more sensible with a duke 390
