  1. As far as I am aware, every night is bike and car night. If you go in a car you have to pre-book a parking space at the weekend now. Wednesday nights are a good shout for bikes though as it’s Stratford bike night down the waterfront on wednesdays too so the bikers go between the two
  2. Safe journey, have a good time
  3. And they didn’t even say whether he was alright or not!
  4. Will have to take a look in summer. Want to go try out Caffeine & Machine too so could do a little idle Torque to caffeine & machine ride out That's sounds like an excellent plan. Not heard of caffeine machine before, website looks very interesting Will revive this thread now. I went to Caffeine & Machine tonight on the bike. Really nice little place! Stratford waterfront bike night is on wednesdays too which is why there was probably so many bikes for a weeknight, overall a nice place. Easy to find too, straight down Fosse way to ettington, then over a roadabout and it’s on the left up the road. Didn’t have any food but the burgers looked half decent
  5. Well my first bike has been delivered today. Couldn’t have planned better weather so went out for a couple hours to get used to it, love it already
  6. Just give their wing mirror a swift boot as they go by
  7. Might pop over if it’s nice weather. Get my bike that week
  8. Seems the logical thing to do, but logic doesn’t really play a part on the tests annoyingly! I’d have done the exact same as you and thought it is perfectly reasonable.
  9. My parents are in Filey so whenever I decide to make the journey up in summer I will be up for a run out to Whitby or something
  10. An unconventional strategy, but hey, if it worked for you. Congratulations. Haha, can of coke thanks!!
  11. Finally just bit the bullet and paid for mine. Roll on the 13th
  12. Forgot to post my MOD2 experiences in here last week so here goes. Had my MOD2 test on Wednesday last week. Booked in for 2:11. However I had a 7:30am start as I had a day of training before hand to make sure I was up to scratch. I was a lot more nervous than I was for MOD1, maybe because it was 8 days since my MOD1 year and I hadn’t been on the bike since then. But anyway got there in the morning for training and we rode over to the test centre to begin taking a few test routes and practicing the angled start etc.. my instructor was confident that both myself and the other guy I was with would pass, so we did a few more test routes, then went for a blast in the countryside for an hour before getting back to the test centre. Quick toastie and can of coke to get some sugar in me before my test, then 15 minutes before my test the heavens opened. Oh crap I’ve never rode in the wet before, so nerves kicked in again. My name was called, gave him my paperwork, answered a couple of questions about bike main fence and by that time the rain had stopped and roads were dry again! Anyway, half an hour or so out riding, return back to the test centre to be told ‘steady ride’ which I remember form my MOD1 test meant it was a clean sheet, 0 faults! MOD2 passed! Instructor took his walkie talkie back and told me to head on back to the training centre the other side of the city, so had my first little solo ride! 4 days later I’ve got a deposit on a bike which is going to be delivered sometime around 13th May after my holiday, so hopefully will see some of you out on the roads
  13. Well my cheapest is £765 fully comp. that’s for 3000 miles, with a Datatool alarm and ground anchor. Called a few others and they either quoted almost £2000 or refused to quote. Looks like I’m sucking that up and paying it
  14. Pushing £1000 for me then again it’s my first ever bike. Is this forum partnered with any insurers? Lexham and MCE coming out cheapest for me. Bennett’s and Carole Nash want £10,000
  15. I’m on holiday for next weeks meet I have just bought a bike though which gets delivered when I am back so will be at the June one if it’s dry
  16. I get my bike the week before that so if I’m feeling confident enough I might take a ride over
  17. Does make you wonder how these organisers in Azerbaijan actually get up and make it to work safely each day
  18. They’ve been showing the races on Sky One aswell, not sure if this weeks is on there, but I’d be pretty annoyed if I was paying for SKY F1 for them to just show it on Sky One as well!
  19. I feel like I am 17 again trying to insure my first bike. Pushing £800 for a ER6N or XJ6N, or paying monthly it’s pushing £1000 With insurance and bike finance that’s an additional £200+ a month I’m going to be paying out. Think I best go count my magic beans.
  20. Pretty good racing last weekend to be fair. Wasn’t expecting too much on that silverstone circuit but was definitely an action packed couple of races, good old elbow to elbow racing! Very lucky to walk away unscathed from that crash too judging by how how he threw himself!
  21. May aswell post in here rather than start a new thread. Can anyone recommend any other ‘big’ dealerships that have loads of bikes I can look around? Preferably midlands area
  22. Just looking at a Z650 from here. Think I’ll give them a swerve after looking at everyone’s feedback!
  23. Congrats mate. I too passed MOD2 today. Also looking at the same two bikes
