I thought they looked pretty good too. Better than the Diversion they turned into. Just had a look, not many about now, looks like they only made them for a couple of years before the 600 came along. You'll be lucky to find a good one now l bet.

I bought some Klim silk inner liners which do a great job of cutting wind. They do *precisely bugger all to stop my hands freezing.
*Scientifically they must do something as an additional layer of insulation, but not perceptible in 5 degree temps on the motorway when your almost numb and slow motion hands are screaming at you to get home, immediately without passing go.
I did like the heated grips on my CBR (proper heat, not this barely lukewarm nonsense), but they didn't really cover the finger tips or help the backs of the hands that are exposed to the chilling wind blast.
Fingers crossed (see what I did there?) the Alpinestars 'winter' gloves with supa-dupa insulation material at least keep the worst at bay. We'll see. Worst case scenario I move to Arizona and only ride in July and August.
yes that's the thing with silk you keep it warm not the other way round

Never having done as much as a first aid at work course before, I feel I can drive a defib now.
Tip: don't volunteer to be test dummy for the tourniquet section!

It sounds like you need a classic muscle bike. One that is fast, sounds awesome, has twelve months MOT, two new tyres, fresh oil, new chain and sprockets, a new K&N air filter, braided hoses, and a recently greased swing arm.
Something like an XJR1300.
if i was a bigger person that is the bike i would have

Graveyards used to be my favourite. Quiet and the better class ones often had tombs that could be used as a decent shelter.

To add to the above...
Avoid using "regular" WD40, it's not a good lubricant, and it's a degreaser/solvent, so won't do rubber seals any good.
The WD40 brand does have some good specific products though.
wd 40 is a dispersant not an oiler , ok for spraying inside your dizzy cap
