the biggest problem i had was getting the pistons out of the monoblock calipers. ended up getting a couple out cleaning bores and changing seals with caliper still attached to lines then block the pistons done in (i used bits of wood) bled system a bit to get a bit of pressure back then pumped others out, didn't use any rubber grease though just used fresh clean brake fluid, was a pain in the ass and took me 4 days but got it done in the end. haynes manual is great but i found it a little confusing loads of good advice on here though

points on your licence go on there whether its your car, bike or work van etc as these are what your licence entitles you to drive/use not sure if its to do with a certain year of passing driving test but the 2 year thing didn't apply to me when passed bike test as i had already got licence and been driving 15 years -
consumable or not after 3 months they surely have to fix it under warranty

is it possible to get in touch with there customer support i know some manufacturers will take it back and inspect it then advise you if it needs replacing or not. -
if thats a joint could be a blown gasket otherwise its a hole in the pipe. if its a hole you could try gun gum and a sleeve or get it welded maybe not sure how this would work on a bike only done it on cars before

i use it every few months not caused me any problems, when i first got my bike it wasn't running great popped the recommended amount in next full tank and took it for a good run during which the bike started spluttering a lot i thought oh crap then one big cough and all was good its been fine ever since

isn't it illegal but down to officers discretion whether to charge on it depending on conditions like if its the middle of the day bright and sunny let it go but if its dusk or crap visibilty and you have no clear one on you your screwed albine if you do a search i think this was covered recently i'm sure someone posted a link to a police forum about this.

i've got one of the plastic ones in my kbc came with it and frankly it deflects F**k all the foggy was brilliant for me cos i've got glasses too never once had to open visor for demisting with it. the anti fog products are good too though -

if you mean the foggy respro i found it brilliant once fitted right no steaming up of visor at all in winter. can't get one to fit this lid though cos the velcro won't stick to its liner -

me too and a spot of redex can't hurt either -
i had the same with the chinese 125 i had battery fully charged all switch gear clean etc in the end turned out to be the battery only found after i had dropped the battery and cracked it so had to go buy a new one. Fitted new battery and pressed button away we went.

as i understand it you have to be 21 to do direct access from which you can ride anything once passed otherwise its the restricted route for 2 years. i'm sure someone more knowledgeable on the subject will be along soon though -
so who's gonna take his ride then bbc reckon edwards eurosport reckon spies. i'd personally like to see spies on it

no problem and thanks again been out to bike this morning and the lever is good and firm quick bleed no air, tested at walking pace pulled lever i carried on walking bike stopped dead it didn't do that before, used to be more of a slow then stop so i guess alls good again. quick test ride later then maybe proper ride out somewhere tomorrow

finally finished changing all the seals the old ones were in a right state thanks to everyone for there advice on this one as i've never done bike brakes before was a learning experience and without walney frankey i may have left the fecker to burn somewhere just got the final bleed to do in the morning as the lever is still a little spongey got the lever tied to the bar overnight apart from this anyone got any bleeding tips????? oh and to the guy from the other forum i use who said 'just take it to the shop'

i've not changed the seals yet just pumped each piston partially out, cleaned it lubed it, then repeated until moving fairly freely, then moved on to next one and so on. all the pistons were moving nicely when i put it back together. It actually wasn't as difficult as i thought and the haynes manual helped but made it look more complicated than it was until i actually started doing it. will be doing the seals this week when they come. having said that its binding still, after pushing it back down the garden seemed to be a lot easier to move

great just done quick test round the block twice brakes are still binding pistons were moving freely yesterday when put it all back together guess i'll be walking to work for a bit then until bits come and i can get time to do the full overhaul

i have had a msug grin on for a while driving the missus mad just ordered the seal kit too £33 with new banjo bolt washers and postage bit different to the £110 the garage wanted for same parts

think its sorted. gonna order seals kit too though and overhaul them when get time grand total including the seal kit £70 and about 5 hours of my time today

my quote was for seals fluid and labour thats it going quite well at minute about to go start second caliper then give it a test if that fails to cure it will order seal kit from we moto

tomorrow i will be shopping for some bits and then making my first attempt at the brakes

i know looked at kit for seals etc on wemoto its £30 which looking at the kit i assume is al i need apart from brake fluid(http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/YZF_600_R_Thunder_cat/96-97/picture/Rebuild_Kit_Full_Seals_Caliper_-_Front/)for my thundercat garage has quoted £110 and £160 labour. I'm going to try giving it a good clean up like cobbz has said to start with and then probably have a go at overhaul if it needs it. there could well be a lot of questions from me coming up

ok so the quote for the job is £270 so i'm going to have a go myself armed with trusty haynes book of lies but the new tyres are an amazing difference

Hey guys How much is this likely to cost me to have front calipers overhauled i'll try most things myself but brakes is not one of those things. brakes are binding badly apparently
