  1. Hi and welcome.

I would start visiting some dealers and have a sit on different models.

Depends on personal taste, how tall you are and what bike makes you feel comfortable and confident on.

Higher cc and power means higher insurance.

If it's your first bike maybe consider something that won't cost a fortune premium wise. A few simulations will give you an idea of cost.

Personally, trail bikes 400cc will be a good starting point as they are excellent teachers and quite forgiving if you slam the brakes and won't throw you on the ground.

Stay away from Chinese ones as maintenance and parts will make it more expensive.

Regarding brand, I'm suspicious because anything that isn't a honda is not worth the money 🙃🙃

Now I'll have half the forum having a go at me 😋😋

  2. You can always watch some yt clips about slow riding.

An excellent channel is, ride like a pro Jerry Palladino, an US ex copper who does training for heavy bikes.

Then get to a supermarket car park and practice.

Nothing will teach you better than lots of practice :thumb:

Welcome to the pan club 🙂

  3. Doing the lawn after engineering the mower.

Why on earth anyone would make a lawnmower with plastic blades is something beyond my comprehension.

IMG_20240601_212726.thumb.jpg.5c7926b253b8e51b612091054c9165c7.jpgso I decided to change it to something more durable.

Unfortunately the metal is too thin and garden full of stones 🙄🙄

So, decided to spend £1 in a set of table knives

Yep… seat height on this one is 895mm, I can just flat foot the Africa twin but not this one…

insurance didn’t allow me to get the 1100 AT though :(

I solved the problem by undoing the nut that holds the spring.

The whole thing come down just enough to have both feet on the ground.

  5. I always do it cold.

Take the plug out and let it drain overnight.

Because I always change the oil filter at same time, once most of the oil is out I remove the filter.

Next morning is just put new filter on the plug back and new oil.

Good excuse to buy a new mower

    No way.

Selling the place, whoever takes over can get a proper mower. Happy with the second hand and metal blades instead those crap plastic ones

  8. If you check the seals, and they are of a reputable brand, it should have either the dimensions or a reference number.

The new ones should match the old ones and be the same size or near enough.

Some pics would help to give a more accurate advice.
