  1. Depending on what tools you have access to you can do the welding yourself.

Sealant wont work. The nearest you would get is to use a mix of bicarbonate soda and Super Glue.

Loads of yt clips about it.

Keep in mind that it will always be a temporary solution.

Welding with a heat gun and some ABS will be the best you can get other than a new tank.

  2. Be careful or they will see that as a change and will charge you the admin fee for change of circumstances.

The fact you have an add-on to your license shouldn't make a difference to them.

It all depends how long you have left until renewal.

  3. Back to the main subjectΒ

Just ordered the 2 springs for the stand.

Now just need everything to arrive and get it fitted.

Meanwhile will still.havr to clean the underside of the engine and whatever more I will find needing a clean. Apply more ACF50 and put the fairings back with the new bolts.

That's a job for the weekend and evenings.

  4. Found a blasting company that will do it for around Β£15

Not even going to think twice about it.

The guy even said would paint it for me. Just not sure what paint he will be doing but I'll discuss it on Wednesday when I go there πŸ™‚

Some works aren't worth the trouble of trying to do manually when a machine can do it faster, better and cheaper than me spending 3 hours and have it half done :thumb:

Honda love to make things complicated 😀😀

In order to remove the side stand I had to remove the entire exhaust system.

This because the axle for the centre stand comes out straight to the pipe just before the silencer 🀬🀬🀬

  6. Being someone who worked in water industry since 2008 I can tell you that the article is a load of pish 🀬🀬🀬

Birds shit on the water, ducks and swans swim in it with all the things they get to do.

In the whole of the UK no water enters the network without proper treatment and at least 4 filtration methods before leaves the works.

Water companies down in England always come up with the most moronic excuses for not doing their job properly.

It is apparently to do with the granite used locally, due to availability. It is a hard wearing stone. I experienced increased tyre wear both times I did the NC500.

Granite is definitely a factor in tyre wear.

Very poor quality of tarmac is another issue.

Then you add the twisted roads that you really ride probably a wee bit faster than would be wise to do...

  8. For one bike you're better off with included in the insurance policy.

Make sure you read all the t&C's because the cheaper option usually only covers 10 miles rescue and you're stuck again in a different location.

    Β

I've used green flag and they are really good.

When the shadow burnt the VR they just pick it up and dropped at my door.

Most the brokers will tease you with a rubbish breakdown cover and will add another Β£50 or Β£100 quid for a decent one.

Age of the bike also plays a role. not all covers are valid for older bikes.
