moral to the story..........................ask about on a good friendly forum like this before parting with hard earned money but at least its not sorted so happy biking and never be afraid to ask
-
not sure why it would have the problem then but they should of not been paid as they seem to have created a problem that didnt exist before and i would be telling them to refit the original engine and refund any money paid for the engine they fitted as something is not right somewhere with it
-
first things first then compression check because if it done that after changing engine but before changing any other parts it could be low compression valve gap need resettinig cam timing out the list is fairly big to be honest but compression check would be a good starting point
-
Got there early but had to leave early also
Was that 'original' Indian Scout still there when you arrived Ollie? That is the first one I've ever seen with twin leading shoe front brakes - and it said it was totally 'original'
its not original but is not a cheap conversion either http://www.zorros.net.au/INdian%20CHIEF%20TWIN%20LEADING%20FRONT%20SHOE%20CONVERSION" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

typical its nice weather and i cant get there tonight

personally i wouldnt try touching the headers with body skin because if the pipe is hot it might end up with skin stuck to it and that smells nasty as it burns off,i tend to use a fine spray of water as you can give each pipe an equal amount and see if it dissipates at the same rate

if unsure about the spark you can always push finger into plug cap to check spark................if when you turn the engine over on the start button you suddenly leap around cursing with your hair stood on end....................then the spark is fine

has the fuel tap got a filter built into it when you remove it from the tank and you can use different solvents to help remove gunk from the tank
-
you say you put new fuel in it but did you check the tank was clean and rust free ?have you stripped the carb down and made sure the jets are not blocked from old fuel going to gel like state ?and the video answers the question ...you know it has not seized because its turning over,my betting is its fuel related problem remove the plugs and tip a few drips of fuel into each cylinder refit plugs and turn it over then and see what happens

-
will be weather dependant and also if its last weekend in july the forum bash is the following weekend as well (and most of the forum nutters have met me in the past lol)
-
Ooh wanna show off your new wheels
Ok dates... last weekend in July?
thats my birthday weekend
-
as a new coil can be bought for less than £20 its worth trying to see if it cured the problem
-
i know a couple of people who tried it for giving up smoking didnt help in the slightest
-
no it does not screw into the cap there is a metal pin in the cap that makes it grip the top of the plug
-
im lucky if i drink more than about 10 - 15 pints a year in total as im always having to be able to drive at very short notice if anything happens
