Hopefully not. In the States (think it was Tesla) they had forward facing radar for distance and camera to “see” the object. Then the radar was removed as a cost saving exercise. This then meant that though the camera could see the object it didn’t know how far away it was. This led it to think that a close motor bike with twin rear lights was a distant car.
so the self driving car hits the bike and says “ sorry i didn’t see you”.

Correct- Elon Musk thinks you don't need radar to judge distance  - cameras will do (NOT)

  2. I had to ride my K1200RS up a plank into a fully loaded removal van. Even trickier was rolling it backwards down the ramp afterwards! Tying it down was the least of my problems.

Optimate might need a reset. The way to do this, I was told was to use the crocodile clips. Turn on the optimate. Touch the clips + & - together briefly. Turn off the optimate and then turn it on again and that should clear the error.

That toggles between CANbus mode and normal depending on the Optimate model but you need to turn the power on WHILE the leads are shorted.

mid you open it in your inbox the sender knows it’s a live account and you’ll just get more

It depends on your email program and how it's set up. With thunderbird you can avoid opening 3rd party links unless you specify in inbox

  5. I have test ridden quite a few BMWs over the last few years. Take photo ID and the code from DVLA to be able to show you licence details ( or national insurance number). At my dealer there is a £509 excess on their insurance and they are happy for me to take them for a few hours and pick up 'er indoors so she can see if she likes it. You just have to replace the fuel used.

  6. A rat got into my loft (and down the cavity and under the floor). Get a professional in to kill the bugger ASAP. My alarm kept going off as it chewed through the wiring and it chewed through the shower control cable. The cost of the professional killer was considerably less than the cost of fixing the damage, and trying to get all the possible gaps filled where it could have got in.

  7. Torque. I used to ride a Kawasaki 2 stroke powevalve which was quick when you kept it above 8000rpm. That seems a bit frantic. Also, if you are doing a steady speed you need to drop a few gears to get the power to overtake. With big bikes you often don't have to change gear to overtake- just open the throttle.
