Air expands when heated so it has to increase tyre pressure, it's why some fancy things use nitrogen it has a much lower reaction to temp changes and doesn't drop pressure over time as much, most of what you breathe is nitrogen.

I think the reason for using pure nitrogen is not to do with pressure changes with temperature- all gases are the same and governed by Boyles law,as I recall.

  2. I have been using custom moulded earplugs for many years.  The shape and size of my ear canal means that any off-the-shelf ones never work.

There are different types of material used for the custom ones.  I prefer the softer ones (Starkey).  Anywhere that does hearing aids should be able to sort you out if you find normal earplugs don't work.

I wear mine all the time unless I am just nipping into town in 30/40mph limits for 10 or 15 minutes.

Reading it the decision was down to northern rail not local council.

Correct. Although I seem to remember a few years ago the council banned motorcycle parking in several popular spots such as by the bandstand at the end of the pier.

  4. Everyone will have to come to Scarborough- free parking in all council car parks and on street parking.  When I moved here 20 years ago my accountant was a biker and told me. It hasn't changed yet.

  5. I don't find my Tech-Air 5 a problem except when the temperature is above 30C. It adds a layer but just means I leave another layer off. In this weather I have quilted liner, airbag, Goretex jacket and it's fine. I haven't bounced down the road (ever) to find out how it works with/without an airbag.

The other problems is there are still some brands that I haven't tried yet. Maybe, you know just maybe? . . . No, I doubt it either!

I had the same problem with Scotch. Japanese whisky seems ok and so does Bourbon or Rye whiskey.

I'm still no wiser and I don't suppose the original poster is either.

  8. By the way, I would suggest Masters of Malt online rather than Amazon for buying whisky (or almost any spirits). Massive range including some silly prices. They also do tasting bottles, packs of 5 or an advent callendar of 24 to try.

What Japenese whisky would you recommend, do you have any amazon links you can share please

Hibiki Harmony, Nikka by the barrel, Yamazaki Single malt (or 12 year old if you're feeling wealthy).

  10. The Tech-Air 5 states that it has been tested with a 6kg backpack.

In don't understand the concerns about having to send it back to be inspected and recharged - by the time I have the bike repaired and I am fit to ride again I will have it back.
