  1. Sounds like your having fun Not mate!! try giving it plenty of heat around the bolt, spray in the plus gas make sure there's no naked flame around and quickly give the bolt a tap with a hammer then apply the grips and try and turn. if you do or don't succeed its Friday night there's always the pub.
  2. Hi, if he's checked the chain tension and its all lubed up that should eliminate that part. A horrid noise between gear changes, look for the easiest first. Chain routing, cushion drive rubbers and rear wheel bearings next. from there its the clutch, which l suspect, it might be a broken clutch plate. Really hope l'm wrong. and that its something simple. If it don't sound right it probably isn't stay safe.
  3. Horses for courses. The blackbird is a mile eater as fast as you dare in comfort. Its for sure not a back lane scratcher.
  4. Hi, I've posted this trick before hence copied and paste Get yourself a little blow torch and try this trick it works: Heat the area around the bolt with the torch, once it’s hot touch a candle to the threads. The wax will be sucked into the opening around the threads, and the bolt can be removed easily. The heating and candle application may have to be repeated a couple times. This works on the same principle as "sweating -soldering" copper pipes, it called capillary action. If you cannot get the candle directly onto the threads as it goes into the block use a quick spray of penetrating oil, just make sure there's no flame about when you do this. The trick is to heat the metal around the bolt, not the bolt itself. Keep us posted:
  5. We manage to get too, awesome afternoon well worth the visit.
  6. Hi, better to get quality second hand gear than cheep new tack. Look at it this way, your going to be most vulnerable whilst learning so get the best protection you can afford. Plenty of really cheap quality gear on the auction sites just make sure you know your size and then jump in. best of luck
  7. Fact big bikes are a nightmare for sucking you into silly speeds. You need one eye on the road and another in the clocks just to keep your licence lol
  8. I've been looking at this. I am told that the gel seats are highly inductive to heat so not so good at present
  9. Hi, If your not sure in what your doing better to get a pro to check and fit it. There may be another reason why the regulator has gone up in smoke. You don't want to fit another one at £159 + vat and watch that go up in smoke as well! You need to know the reason its happened in the first place before you go ordering new parts. There could be a short or a trapped wire, get it checked over first.
  10. Nice one well done, onwards and upwards
  11. Well that low voltage on tick over could upset the coils hence the poor pick up from low rev's. It could be the regulator but first make sure that all the connection are clean and tight. Then start looking at components. The ZZR6 must be getting on now it could just be tired electric's Best of luck your defiantly onto something.
  12. Hi, Yes hopefully its just a bent lever. First gear is the only gear where the lever is pressed down it might be fowling on the frame
  13. Yes designed by myself after trying everything else to go 2 up camping. Crossing the channel P&O are a pain in the #ss!! Not done the chunnel, DFDS on the other are very helpful cost us an extra £20 to take the trailer on a return journey Dover - Dunkirk, and no prob's either on the Harwich ferry. The foreign police have never bothered us apart from an curious head scratch on there normal inspection in Rotterdam lol. Been to Assen twice and the F1 in Belgium last year which was awesome. There we had a Porsche owner get out his car and remark that l had in fact got more carrying space on the back of the bike than he had got in the Porsche lol. Towing once under way a breeze and to be perfectly honest we have not had a single issue whilst on the move with trailer and that's at any speed, 200 miles from the Spa circuit to the Dunkirk ferry in under 3hrs but don't tell anyone lol
  14. Agree, either the carbs or tired electric's - plugs and coils
  15. Mods to the trailer it now has 2 removable legs to allow it to free stand on the camp site after its been disconnected from the bike. I've also adapted a aluminium roll up table top to go on top of the trailer which now gives us a 900mm x 450 mm table on the camp site all this fit inside our new Kyham freelander tent which has full standing room. "Great news for me old back lol." All this is carried in the trailer along the following: double blow up air bed 2 no 3-4 season sleeping bags 2 fold up chairs cooker-pans and personal clothing. Only thing carried on the bike is the waterproofs and personal gear so no overloading of the bikes suspension. Last trip was to the Dutch TT Assen we were never at the back of our 12 party group. Sorry for the late pic's I've been having issues uploading with my camera. Cheers for the advice Stu the camera was the problem.
  16. RS or Maplins should be able to sort you out. Just make sure you get the right size for hole and cable. Some of the clamps l've come across factory fitted l have to say! Have almost cut the cables in two.
  17. Busiest I've ever seen it, a brill night rammed full of bikes and some interesting cars. My mate came in late and found nowhere to park his bike he went home. Great venue..... location.
  18. This lad is good and well worth a call. http://www.jacexhausts.co.uk/index.html
  19. We will be there, but coming from the opposite direction Nottingham. Should be a massive meet this evening with the current weather Here's the link if anyone's else is interested http://www.ashbyfolville.com/
  20. well done you! The more relax you are on the bike the more you will be able to look up read and understand the road. Head fixation and looking well up the road is all well and good with experience and on roads that you know or might know well. But be well aware that pot holes, over banding, manhole covers and oil spillages are always there lurking ready to give you a bad day. Look for these obstacles first then set yourself up for the corner or braking zone. Stay safe.
  21. Turning right can sometimes be a little bit more tricky due to the camber of the road. Most roads have a slight slope from right to left, this is to enable the roads to drain of water, some roads have a lot more camber than others. So be aware on turning right or on right hand bends you will have less tyre contact area on the road due to the camber. On the other hand this can play right into making left handers a joy to ride through. Learn to read the road, work out your angle of lean against the camber of the road not the angle of the bike.
  22. Hi just a quick note, don't use a car charger to charge your battery it will destroy it! You need a purpose made charger suitable for the smaller motorbike batteries.

    Rear Wheel

Hi, I suggest that you loosen the wheel off the axle nut, Hold the chain and sprocket hub still using a glove or cloth, keeping your fingers well away from getting trapped, then rock the wheel back and forth by turning the tyre hopefully it might jump back in. l think that the hub is not fully inserted into the cush drive assemble hence the gap on both the hub and spacer. Failing this, take the axle out and inspect the assembly. Don't ride it until your completely happy all is ok.

    Rear Wheel

Hi, have you had the wheel out or just loosened it off to adjust the chain? I have to say looking at your pic's that the hub do's NOT look as if it is seated properly into the cushion drive and the spacer on the outside of the wheel is also out, have you tighten up the axle nut correctly? Don't ride until your fully happy all is ok, get a second opinion if needs be
