  1. lol Stu yep, you can free fall for miles its only the last few inches that hurts. Back on subject, sprockets are the only but once you over gear it you my never get it in top unless your going down hill.
  2. changing ratios does not affect the restriction, the power is still the same so its not illegal passing the test is definitely a good idea I thought speed kills not power You learn something new every day!! So what is the point of restricting power if it do's not restrict speed? New Learner laws CA fuddle me completely lol. Glad l took my test back in the 70's when it was all so simple.
  3. It's a restricted bike so messing with the gearing got to be illegal. Better to get your test passed and move on to a better - faster bike. Getting caught speeding on restricted - derestricted bike with l assume a learner licence is going to end in tears. Except the bike for what it is and move on would be my move.
  4. That will keep the RAC and AA busy lol
  5. This might help you Mate cheap enough to keep your tail tidy going http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-LOOK-X1-W ... 2c71b43d8b

    engine change

  9. Hi, No resister needed for the brake light circuit, resistors only required for the indicators if you don't fit an electronic indicator unit. Is the brake light flickering from the front brake switch only, or from the rear brake switch as well? If only the front switch first thing is to give the brake lever switch a wash out with WD40 and see if that cures it, if not there's a fault in the switch or wiring.
  10. Hi all, we've been thinking this one over, just getting back on our feet from a recent holiday. There's not many weekends left for camping so we might tag along if possible but it will be only for Friday night. Is there anyone travelling up from the Nott's area on Friday that we can tag on with? If not is this the café your thinking of meeting up at? http://www.squires-cafe.co.uk/opening_times/index.asp
  11. That's a pretty good theory foz but the sensor is in the rad and not the top of the engine It will stop when the temp of the rad drops and the sensor is satisfied When the engine is switch off the water and oil pump also stops, this causes the heat to pool up in the top of the engine this in turn will trigger the high temperature switch and cut in the fan. The fan will continue to run until the water or oil temperature drops sufficiently enough for the switch to switch off the fan. Comes under engine management.
  12. Were on it, love BSB at Cadwell one of the best meets of the year. But heads up anyone going, the Linc's coppers will be well up for it.
  13. Will not upset the balance that much, l've seen the odd guys out with just one pannier attached.
  14. My Busa had them, that made it a wide ass bike, a lot wider than the mirrors! Not good at all for filtering. Had no issues with speeds but as said don't overload them brackets are not designed for heavy loads, also its all on the rear sub frame and spring.

    bleeding issue

there's your problem!! Do the nipple up with pressure still on the brake so fluid is still coming out to ensure no air sneaks back in... That will be your problem, you need to squeeze the lever and nip the bleed nipple up at the same time. Hope your soon sorted

    bleeding issue

Hi, first make sure you are doing the bleed the correct way, either use a none return valve or a bottle with the hose submerged in brake fluid to prevent the air returning into the calliper. If you managed to get the lever hard then move on and try this, pump up the brakes until the lever becomes hard then strap a tie wrap or similar around the lever to keep the pressure on and leave it for a while, on return the lever should remain hard, if not look for external leaks check hoses coupling and the callipers. If there's no sign of a external leaks you can assume that the master cylinder piston-valve is leaking. You might get a service kit from here. Hope this helps http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/suzuki-front-master-cylinder Edit: l'm assuming its a Suzuki GS850
  17. Hi, if they worth some money this place i've just found might be worth a call http://www.scrubbersleathers.co.uk/price.html
  18. I've got both leathers and textiles. We use the textiles in the winter, but in this high heat and humidity there not so comfortable and also not that waterproof to be honest! In need of a suite that's well up for the job judging by the current trend in the weather
  19. Thanks for the heads up on that one. I'm on the hunt for a new one piece rain suite, anybody got any recommends?
  20. Ducati would not listen to Rossi and Burgess so l really fear for him. Cal's management would of brokered the deal but they have not got to ride the dam thing!! There might be some money in it but he's more than likely to hurt himself getting it. They all called Rossi blind saying he's not trying, who in the right state of mind going to push to the point of being hurt? Years ago Honda came to Donington park with a strange sounding 2 stroke engine that blew the rest away, They all listen to the firing sequence of the engine note and found it to be a big bang engine. What did the rest do, they copied it!! Moral if you can't beat them then join them.

    Gasket

Just buy a new standard exhaust gasket for your bike it do's not matter what material the new pipe is made of
  22. Nice one well done! No quitters on here lol
  23. Did you get the so and so out?
  24. Hi Mate and welcome, first of all you need one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLASHER-RELAY ... 33728a4b5d Reason being that the original flasher unit relies on current to control the flashing rate with led lights the current is so small it will not function correctly. Regarding the lights not working at the rear of the bike, that can only be a wiring fault. Check for loose connections and corrosion make sure you have got good clean earth connection. Hope this helps P.S Didn't realise you were trying to mix and match, I think you will need to change the front as well, the electronic flasher unit is for the led lights only
  25. It's a stud then mate not a bolt, should not make that much difference stick to it you will win
