  1. I try to keep the triple figures for the track. But I have seen the 6th gear redline on a few occasions *slaps wrist*
  2. Ive offer to help but it would be a 800 mile round trip
  3. Name and shame the cowboys and then move on to a proper garage, better yet do it yourself,at least that way you know its been done properly. Its actually very easy to do.
  4. Well done for having a go and doing it yourself
  5. Yeah same method for tightening i dont think the torque setting is that high tbh and it gets tighter from use anyway.
  6. What you want to do is loosen the front sprocket nut while the old chain is still on and use the back brake to stop the sprocket turning NOT the gears. You will also probably need a bar to go over the wrench as the nut gets pretty tight so you'll need the extra leverage.
  7. Do a few laps before getting your knee down to make sure your tyres are warm enough, also make sure you lower your psi to around 32/30 and remember to enjoy yourself altho 1 session isnt enough time to get over your nerves and settle into it.
  8. yes it breaks and rivets chains. i would grind or file the rivets off first tho before using it to push the link out as it can damage the tool if you dont.
  9. If it was me i'd replace the whole lot, you don't want a chain snapping on you at 60mph. Also make sure you buy a quality chain like d.i.d
  10. Its a well know fact that you change the sprockets and chain together, just get it all done and dont worry about it for another 20-30k miles. Even do it yourself and save enough money to buy another set or even a chain oiler that will extend the life of your chain even longer.
  11. Me an the mrs might come if the weathers nice. Any chance of a map marker so i know where to meet you. is it here? http://g.co/maps/hvxq8 Normanton Rd, Edith Weston, Rutland LE15 8, UK
  12. Could be caused by a seized piston thats been pressing on the disc causing it to get hot and warp. happened to my gpz and actually split the disc.
  13. Neither is good but a few mm either way wont matter, saying that the tolerance is usually something like 25-35mm so i would just set it to 30mm or a little tighter.
  14. I'll be there with the mrs, probably wednesday. We went last year and it was pretty good even tho it was snowing.

    Hello and help

    Its a CBR its gonna be the reg/rec lol http://www.electrexworld.co.uk/pdfs/Tro ... G-&-RR.pdf
  16. I wouldnt bother with one of those 20 minute 1 session things it takes a few sessions to get the feel of it and settle the nerves etc. There are instructors about who will take you round the track and follow you and give advice, all you need to do is ask them. Best thing is its free i wouldnt bother paying £100's for a private instructor. Just my 2p just looked at your location, mallory park is pretty close to you, its a pretty simple track and its been recently resurfaced. They also dont do noise testing.
  17. Id change it if i was worried about it, is saving a 100 odd quid worth it?
  18. Standard mirrors do fold in, you might need to loosen the Allen key bolt tho. seat is bolted on (stupid design) you need to lift the back corners of the seat cushion to see them. 10 or 8mm bolts i cant remember. i bought some shorter bolts to make it quicker to remove the seat.
  19. Well done mate, now get out on the roads and start the real learning.
  20. Loved my gpz, arguably the best 500cc first big bike. Head over to ex-500.com. loads of good info on there and make sure you do the fog mod, it makes a huge improvement. I would also recommend packing the cush drive rubbers to take up the slop.
  21. Wayne Hamilton also died today during the manx gp junior race. R.I.P guys http://www.crash.net/crash/news/172544/ ... ident.html
  22. Dont think im gonna bother, have a good, safe time guys. http://www.maccinfo.com/cat/#
  23. So is anyone doing something today? I might ride up if so.
  24. Thanks mate
